cert-manager is an open source project led by Jetstack that is widely used to provision X.509 certificates to Kubernetes clusters. We are looking to hire a software engineer to join the team behind cert-manager. You will work with the team to develop the next round of features that will expand the ways in which cert-manager can be used to keep a Kubernetes cluster and the applications running on it secure.
We are a distributed team that works in the open. Our Software Engineers tackle complex user problems through designing, analysing and troubleshooting software systems. We have a pragmatic approach and are results focused, whilst always placing a high value on user experience.
Desirable technical experience
Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems
Good understanding of PKI/TLS/SSL
Proficiency in Golang
Experience building distributed systems
Linux systems programming (i.e. shell, Bash scripting, etc)

Working remotely: The Third Light development team embraced remote working a few years ago and now has workers in more than one country. We strive to provide a friendly, fun, supportive remote-working culture and we refine our processes to make remoting easier. We will welcome your ideas and contributions. Normally, as a new starter, you'd come to the office for a few weeks to get to know each other. Due to Coronavirus you will no-doubt join us remotely, at least temporarily, which will bring interesting challenges in how best to introduce you to, and integrate you into, the development team—how to train you, how to help familiarise yourself with our systems and ways of working.
