Your role 🙋
Tackle convoluted problems and develop clean, stable solutions that scale. The ideal candidate would be someone who has a genuine passion for designing and implementing elegant software solutions. They would also be intimately familiar (and up to date) with their development ecosystem for making sound decisions when it comes to choosing the right tool or library for the job. We expect our engineers to be able to contribute across the entire product stack, as well as collectively oversee the integrity of the codebase.
Your responsibilities 💪
In this role you’ll be:
- Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code
- Translating software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software
- Playing a key role in architectural and design decisions, building toward efficient microservices distributed architecture
Within 1 month you'll:

What we need to see:

The role
You will be responsible for designing and building out compelling and quality solutions for our Universal Data Graph (UDG) product. You will work closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Engineers, QA experts, and UX Designers to shape and deliver high quality and high efficiency solutions for Universal Data Graph. You will be expected to input into UDG strategy, and be a keen advocate of continuous improvement concepts in our software engineering lifecycle – continuous testing, continuous integration, linting etc.

The role
You will be responsible for designing and building high quality and customer centric solutions within our platform team. You will work with Senior Product Managers, Technical Leads, UX Designers, QAs, and a team of talented engineers to bring our vision for the platform enablement team to life. This role also will play a key part in our continuous improvement journey, building out high levels of pipeline automation, great unit testing, and ensuring we live up to our engineering policies, processes, and standards.
Our platform team looks after enabling capabilities which other product teams consume – for example, our Tyk Identify Broker, back end plugins, Tyk Sync, Tyk Pump, and our multi datacentre bridge
We’d love it if you had line management experience, and are keen to impart some of your knowledge in managing and growing junior engineers.

The Role
Senior Software Engineers play a key role in our product engineering squads. You’ll be responsible for helping design, develop and maintain our communication products and related services. This will enable our customers to send out millions of SMS messages per day; place voice calls via our REST API; gain real-time insights using our Dashboard; and reach out to consumers via IM platforms like WhatsApp.
Our product engineering squads have the freedom and authority to create impactful products to empower both our internal and external customers. We use an agile development methodology, meaning we deploy code multiple times per day while ensuring our applications are rigorously tested and statically analyzed.
What You'll Do
Help design and build a performant, scalable and fault-tolerant communication platform.
Team with engineers to solve system design and implementation problems (and get a thrill out of every triumph!).
Work with and enable engineers from other teams who interact with the platform.
Problem-solve issues based on business/customer need and impact, working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Teach others: One of the most meaningful tasks of a Senior Engineer is improving the knowledge level of the team members.

What You'll Bring
At least 5 years of relevant software development experience
Strong experience in Golang is a must.
Experience dealing with high traffic applications (1M+ requests per day) is a must
Strong experience working with relational and non-relational data stores (like MySQL, Cassandra & Redis).
Experience with high-throughput relational database deployments
Experience with Docker, Containers and Kubernetes.
Practical and theoretical knowledge of development patterns, software architectures and design patterns (TDD, Event-Driven, SOLID, Hexagonal, DDD).
Knowledge of (cloud) infrastructure principles (load balancing, high availability, containerized services, database configurations) is a must.

The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be helping to drive our product and engineering department forward, working on different parts of the Paddle ecosystem and helping our Software Sellers sell their products on a platform they trust and rely on.
Our Engineering Department is split into 8 cross functional Product teams, along with an SRE and Data team.
Our Product teams are made up of an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager and between 4 - 8 engineers (mix of backend and frontend), depending on the demands of the team.
