Kava Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer for the Kava lending platform, Kava's blockchain solution enabling decentralized stable coins, bonds, and lending for crypto users. This is a full time remote position. Candidates can apply from time zones ranging from PST (USA Pacific), to CET (Central Europe). This position reports directly to the CEO today and will split into functional teams once the team expands. Contribute your skills and knowledge to building, supporting, and operating an amazing product experience for our customers.
Learn as you go to understand customer needs, product structure, fingerprinting techniques, and network protocols.
Self-task and coordinate with the rest of the engineering team to move the product forward, solve customer challenges, and keep the platform running smoothly.
Work with customers to identify bugs, understand gaps in product functionality, and flag opportunities for improvement.
Work closely and communicate effectively with functional teams across the company to keep our customer experience aligned with product and sales operations.
A strong track record of building products that customers love.
5+ years of experience in programming-heavy engineering roles with a demonstrated ability to ship quality results, frequently.
Go programming experience is preferred, but if you have deep experience in other languages and are excited about learning Go, we can make that work too.
Extensive experience with web development (HTML, CSS, plain JS) and a solid understanding of the HTTP protocol and the web browser security model.
PostgreSQL database experience, but other SQL database experience is also applicable.
A solid understanding of standard development tools and processes, including Git and issue-management systems.
Confidence working with Linux instances for deployment and diagnostics.

Job description
We (Delphi Digital) are working with one of our portfolio projects to build a key element of their stack. Once v1 is ready we would like to spin out the team who can take this forwards, working directly for the project.
About the role:
You will be responsible for building and maintaining one of the key pieces of infrastructure, which takes data from the blockchain, stores in a timeseries database and exposes a JSON API and GraphQL view onto this data for internal tools and 3rd party developers to consume.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Go developer - ideally having used some technologies such as Timescale, GraphQL, APIs, blockchain (Tendermint) and/or dev ops tech such as Docker.
The position requires strong technical expertise, enthusiasm and a desire not only to write good code, but also deliver value to us and our clients. The position is open to full-time remote developers.
Technical environment:
We iterate fast, releasing early and often but believe in modular, maintainable, reusable code. In order to stay agile, testing is something we apply lightly to projects in the early stages and more heavily once a project is stable.
