We are currently looking for a skilled Senior Golang Developer to join the backend team of our Shop Applications Unit.

The Shop Applications Unit constantly improves the App, Mobile Website and Desktop Website. These big-scale products are each visited by several million people every month. Our highly scalable API updates and delivers our product data for our shop frontends in real-time – in peak times with up to millions of requests per minute! Job mission

As a part of our Backend team you will be working on our bidding, data processing and machine learning infrastructure. This involves services which are distributed around the globe, handling more than two million requests per second and generating terabytes of data daily. Our tech stack consists of a variety of technologies such as Golang, Python, Kafka, Druid, Aerospike, Ruby, Elasticsearch, Chef, Hadoop, Spark, TensorFlow, Terraform and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Add features to and refactor existing code on our bidder while maintaining a sub 100ms response latency.
• Build real-time processing pipelines to transform, aggregate, and ship data both internally and to external partners.
• Develop supporting systems and infrastructure for machine learning research, such as model repositories, feature stores, and training environments.
• Decide on appropriate metrics, logging, and alerting to ensure our distributed system stays in sync and operational 24/7/365.
• Work in a hybrid environment that mixes on-premise with cloud based infrastructure (mainly AWS and GCP).

Requirements

HDI Systeme AG is looking for Backend Software Engineers at all levels of experience to join our rapidly growing team in Hilden. You will design, build, scale, and maintain internal and external applications while contributing your expertise in technology, architecture, and systems to the larger organization.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and improve innovative backend software for sales applications
• Work in a cloud-based (AWS) environment with serverless applications
• Measure, analyze, understand, and improve application performance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our Data, Sales and DevOps teams
• Help drive innovation and be an advocate for software quality
• Assist directly and indirectly in hiring and in developing technical talent
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Your Qualifications:

• Hands on experience in software engineering with a commonly used language (Go, C, C++, Java etc.)
• Experience in working in a Linux environment
• You're familiar with common database systems, especially NoSQL
• Experience in working with microservices
• You understand industry best practices and are well-versed in modern software architecture practices
• You're a quick learner, with an enthusiasm for software engineering and learning new technologies
• You're independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a technical field
• Experience with building production applications in Go
• Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Experience with asynchronous applications
• You've worked on serverless systems such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions
• Basic German skills
