The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, youâll be helping to drive our product and engineering department forward, working on different parts of the Paddle ecosystem and helping our Software Sellers sell their products on a platform they trust and rely on.
Our Engineering Department is split into 8 cross functional Product teams, along with an SRE and Data team.
Our Product teams are made up of an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager and between 4 - 8 engineers (mix of backend and frontend), depending on the demands of the team.

We are seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering for our well funded e-commerce fulfillment startup

Today, these small and medium sellers are ignored by the large incumbent logistics service providers and we are on a mission to change that.
Building a next generation Fulfillment-as-a-Service platform: With this explosive growth in e-commerce, the demand for e-commerce fulfilment and delivery is booming. Bezos is a next generation Fulfillment-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform, that allows small and medium e-commerce sellers to outsource their storage, fulfilment, delivery, and returns and focus on what is more important: growing their businesses. Job Description
We are looking for experienced backend engineers to build the Coda platform from scratch. You will be one of the pioneer engineers who contribute to all parts and elements of the data platform we are building, from infrastructure to architecture to development.

Monzo works in project-based sprints in small, interdisciplinary teams
We have around 190 engineers out of roughly 1000 people in total - and we have big ambitions. This is about delivering sophisticated new product features for release to our state-of-the-art software service that helps companies manage and share their digital media files easily â features that will have immediate positive impact for our global user base.
We're a small and expanding software development team, building an enterprise application with a highly-polished UI, using the very best and latest techniques. We employ an iterative, design-led process where everyone on the team gets a say. We're agile and manage our work using a gentle Kanban process with daily stand-ups and we encourage a lightweight, productive approach to development.
Our product is a JavaScript application loosely-coupled to a back end built on Go microservices and legacy PHP. We use microservices for all new features and Go is our chosen language to do this. In parallel we are migrating our older codebase to Go microservices.

Our backend engineers have a variety of different backgrounds
We have several non-graduates; only some of us studied Computer Science; one of the team has a degree in Marketing; some of us have worked in huge companies; some have only ever worked in startups; others are former consultants. As long as you enjoy learning new things, weâd love to talk to you.
We encourage an open and transparent working environment
You can get involved in any aspect of the business you are interested in and,following Stripeâs example, all emails in the company are visible in an email archive. We regularly run hackathons in which people build things on our third party API and we contribute to open source software as much as possible. Monzo works in project-based sprints in small, interdisciplinary teams
We have around 150 engineers out of roughly 800 people in total - and we have big ambitions. There are many interesting challenges ahead, and we're happy for people to move between teams or to specialise, whatever you prefer. As an engineer here you'd be able to work directly with anyone across the company, and we run regular knowledge-sharing sessions so youâll learn heaps about everything from how banks work to effective communication.

At the moment, the following teams are looking for backend engineers:
Product The product backend team work primarily on creating backend services and APIs for our in-app user-facing features. They work closely with our mobile engineers and designers to create a delightful user experience, and to drive growth and retention. Projects that Product backend engineers have worked on recently include Summary (giving people insight into their finances to empower them to spend sensibly) and the Current Account Switch Service (all the hard work to allow users to move to Monzo quickly and easily).
Lending The Lending team works on making borrowing money simple, fair and transparent. They've already shipped and scaled overdrafts to hundreds of thousands of Monzo customers and they've made it easy to take out a loan without the unfair fees or confusing pricing that you find elsewhere. They work on everything from the way borrowing works in the app, right down to how they move and account for money that our customers borrow. One of the most interesting problems they face is deciding how much to lend and to whom. The team believes that they can make access to credit fairer and more transparent.
Logistics
We can help you relocate to London, we can sponsor visas, and we're open to remote working (as long as you can spend around 20% of your time in London).
We offer competitive salaries based on skills and experience, which could be anywhere between ÂŁ40,000 - ÂŁ100,000 per year.
