As a Senior Go Engineer, you will be responsible for writing and maintaining code on the Textile Go libraries, including Threads, Buckets, Hub, and Powergate. This role is for someone with solid coding experience and the ability to lead new features. As part of that leadership, you will help craft and optimize our product roadmap by contributing your research and expertise. You will have many opportunities to contribute to the open-source ecosystem, including the IPFS and Filecoin stacks. Role Details

  • Become a deep technical expert across Libp2p, IPFS, Filecoin, and Textile.
  • Research, contribute to the product vision and help define the roadmap of multiple products.
  • Build and maintain features on the Textile Hub. Implement new APIs. Optimize existing APIs.
  • Build new services and systems to integrate with various blockchain networks.
  • Build new features to integrate with the Filecoin network.
  • Build and help maintain Powergate, go-threads, and go-buckets.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 3+ years of production-level Golang experience.
  • Additional experience in Typescript, Rust, or Solidity
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • High levels of intellectual curiosity, professionalism, and self-motivation.
  • A track-record of being a self-starter with interest in influencing and making critical product decisions.
  • Open-source project experience. GitHub/GitLab links greatly appreciated.
  • Familiarity with Filecoin or related technologies.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for software design.
  • A location in a timezone between GMT -3 to GMT -7 (South or North America)

Principal Software Engineer - Edge Data

You will be one of the first engineers working on a brand-new system that Fastly has been prototyping and is now beginning to operationalize. The system applies cutting-edge distributed systems theory — notably, CRDTs — to Fastly's global network to provide an infrastructure for state at the edge.

What You'll Do

  • Learn the distsys theory and Go implementation of the project to proficiency, becoming a technical "co-founder" and owner
  • Optimize system performance to meet Fastly's Internet-scale requirements, via testing, profiling, refactoring, and redesigning
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to define and implement primitives that will power a huge number of future Fastly products

cert-manager is an open source project led by Jetstack that is widely used to provision X.509 certificates to Kubernetes clusters. We are looking to hire a software engineer to join the team behind cert-manager. You will work with the team to develop the next round of features that will expand the ways in which cert-manager can be used to keep a Kubernetes cluster and the applications running on it secure.

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our TechOps squad at Monzo.

Our TechOps squad is primarily responsible for making sure everyone at Monzo has all of the tools they need to do a great job. That means managing all of our devices (predominantly running Mac and Chrome OS), managing our G-Suite domains, providing 1:1 support to Monzonauts across the business, and much much more.

A big contributor to the success TechOps have had to date is the way we’ve embedded engineers in the squad, meaning we’ve been able to automate away a lot of the manual work traditionally associated with a TechOps squad.

This has allowed us to move quickly, achieve an incredible ratio of TechOps people to total employees, and reap the benefits of being able to hire people all across the world without friction.

You’ll help us solve problems such as:

  • How do we continue to offer outstanding service to all of our Monzonauts without exponentially increasing the number of people working in TechOps? What can we build to automate the work of 20 people?
  • What parts of traditional IT can we rethink with code to supercharge TechOps at Monzo?
  • How do we build a seamless, delightful experience for Monzonauts with best-in-class homegrown code and third party services?

The role

You’ll be a backend engineer in the squad. Some of the projects you’ll be involved in might include:

  • Integrating MDM (Mobile Device Management) and making this a function that integrates with everything else at Monzo, from inventory to access levels on your AWS account.
  • Building a seamless way to replicate groups, roles and other logical frameworks across first and third party applications to make authorisation for a Monzonaut a seamless experience.
  • Building on a system to track any and every Monzo-owned asset, from network switches to access passes and everything in between.
  • So much more - you’ll have the opportunity to influence our roadmap and build on the foundations already in place to continue scaling TechOps with Monzo

You’ll work closely with TechOps generalists and engineers from around the business to tackle some of the challenges mentioned above, working at the intersection between Security, People and TechOps to make sure we’re moving forwards together.

Security, scalability and how we continue to support the services you’re building should always be front of mind.

Logistics

Salary is around £69,000 - £116,000 plus stock options and other benefits.

This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working (with ad hoc meetings in London once COVID is over).

We’re currently looking for Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join our Platform team.

We’re looking for SREs who are software engineers at heart - you’re as comfortable writing software to solve problems as you are operating AWS or Kubernetes. If you’re a software engineer who has some good cloud infrastructure experience already, or you’re eager to get really familiar with systems, tooling and libraries, this could be the role for you.

As a team, we’re responsible for designing, building, and operating the services we consume from AWS, along with the software we run on top like Kubernetes, Cassandra, Prometheus, and Kafka. We’re also responsible for operating our three physical data centres, our network, and being on-call for the things we own and run.

To achieve this, we’re organised into three squads within the Platform Group; Infrastructure Platform, Storage Platform, and Backend Platform. Each squad is responsible for solving a specific set of problems for our customers and our engineers. We’re looking for engineers who are interested in joining our Infrastructure Platform or Storage Platform squads right now, but there are opportunities to move between them as you gain experience with our platform.

Logistics

Salary ranges between £59,000 - £116,000 plus stock options and other benefits.

This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working (as long as you can spend around 20% of your time in London).

We have payroll set up in four countries: the UK, Ireland, France, and Spain. Right now, we can only hire people who work from those countries and we’ll keep this updated with new ones as we expand and are able to hire from more places 🌎

We are developing a subscription-based car service, which is more flexible and less engaging than leasing. All our vehicles are connected and supply our data warehouse: predictive maintenance, discounts offered to drivers who drive responsibly, the possibilities are endless.

We are looking for a strong software developer who is passionate about the blockchain space, enjoys designing and writing software, who'd like to join the Spacemesh core dev team and work full time on the core Spacemesh software platform. We work in a flat, open organization where each team member is responsible to his peers for the quality and the delivery of major platform components, participates as an equal in all software design discussions and works closely with the Spacemesh researches and the open source community.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation and maintenance of one or more core software components of the Spacemesh cryptocurrency.
  • Work closely with other core developers on the team and with our research team on the design of Spacemesh software components.

Must haves

  • Good command of the GO programming language.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science.
  • Good spoken English communications skills.
  • 2 years of prior work experience (not necessarily in the blockchain space)
  • Fast learner, able to quickly learn the applicable complex and new technologies.
  • Possess a combination of exceptional algorithmic/theoretic CS skills, strong hands-on system programming skills and the mentality and capability to start writing production-quality code in GO programming language quickly.

Opportunity

You will join our Insurance team tasked with designing and building the insurance platform from the ground up to enable new opportunities to our insurance product and services.

The platform will be a set of simple and intelligent APIs built using microservices and event driven architectures. Internally, the decision and rating engines will leverage integration with numerous 3rd party systems to provide quotes, offer addons, allow policy uptake and operational management.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, architect and build multi-channel platform solutions
  • Contribute ideas and influence business wide solution architecture
  • Build robust and scalable end-to-end software solutions
  • Participate in the entire development life cycle, from requirements to delivery
  • Influence other team members in a cross functional product team
  • Build integrations with legacy systems with a focus on eventually moving away from them

Key requirements

  • Good engineering skill with an eye for both modelling and code architecture
  • Knowledge of when and how to apply test driven approaches
