We are looking to hire remote principal engineers as individual contributors to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Humanitec. You should have significant professional experience in building highly scalable distributed systems. CS degree and experience in dev productivity tools are a plus. Languages: predominantly Go. Everything is on Kubernetes. We pay top 5% in the market, stocks are part of the package. Work is fully remote and we work exclusively with senior engineers in small, lean, and self-organized teams. We currently prefer time-zones UTC-1 to UTC+3.
The product:
We are pioneering a new category of tooling called “Internal Developer Platforms”. Built for some time in companies such as Spotify, Github, Airbnb, and others, we are providing the fastest way for teams to build their own Internal Developer Platforms. Internal Developer Platforms provide a developer experience as simple as Heroku but on top of the tech and tools the team uses already. They allow ops teams to stay in control while enabling developers to self-serve the tech they need. Do you want to spin up an environment to do some quick testing? No problem! Need to clone Production to troubleshoot an issue without risking more problems? Easy! Need to stand up a new database for your service but ops is busy? Piece of cake! We serve customers from startups to unicorns.

Responsibilities of the role:
Seldon is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. We are focused on making it easy for machine learning models to be deployed and managed at scale in production. We provide Cloud Native products that run on top of Kubernetes and are open-core with several successful open source projects including Seldon Core, Alibi:Explain and Alibi:Detect. We also contribute to open source projects under the Kubeflow umbrella including KFServing.
About the role Design and build scalable machine learning solutions on top of the open source and enterprise Seldon products. Working on bring the Explainable AI and ML Monitoring available in the Alibi projects into the enterprise products for general use.
Essential skills A degree or higher level academic background in a scientific or engineering subject. Familiarity with linux based development. At least 2 years of experience in industry or academia showing completed projects.
Core skills (The role will be focused on these skills so we would expect existing experience or a demonstrable desire to learn these) Experience with GoLang and Python Experience with Kubernetes and the ecosystem of Cloud Native tools. Experience using machine learning tools in production. Bonus skills (Any of these will be of great interest to us) A broad understanding of data science and machine learning. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll work within the software development team, supporting them on the early stages of a Greenfield project that involves advanced monitoring, machine learning and predictive analysis software for the financial services sector. Our UK office is relatively new, and so the ability to develop and be creative with new products is what makes this role unique. Your role will involve development, system administration, quality assurance and support. We are looking for experienced software engineers, with strong backend experience in Cloud based environments excited for the challenge of working with a small team of front-end engineers. The perfect candidate will be comfortable working closely with front-end engineers and can communicate effectively within a small team.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Build scalable, secure, effective and well documented backend systems in alongside well motivated front-end engineers - Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure on-time and performant solutions - Assess and build test frameworks for backend systems, as well as track metrics and performance over time - Ensure that code written is to a high standard, with excellent reusability - Help develop a service orientated architecture for cutting edge products
