As a Senior Developer in GDS youâll:

Verisart is currently upgrading is is seeking a hands on Senior Golang Engineer who can work with our technical stack as we migrate from a tightly coupled backend and front end to using React/Redux.
The successful candidate will have strong web app and RESTfull API experience and will be able to support our in-house development team and can start immediately. Knowledge of micro services is also helpful.
The role would involve setting up the API framework as well as any authentication (OAuth2.0) and validation middleware. Routes would then need to be implemented and integrated. Role would also involve supporting any extra code requirements of the development team inside the scope of the API project.
The work will be carried out as part of a small team, based in London (Mayfair). Competitive rates offered, as well as flexible working hours although the position is full time and on site and the successful candidate must be available at least 4 days per week at our office in London.
In general Verisart seeks engineers interested in applying cryptography at real world problems. Our problem lies within the art market as we address the problem of proving provenance for artworks and building evidence based certificates of authenticity. We recognize that cryptography is not a magic bullet. We want to use it intelligently to provide evidence where possible for people to interpret, like the web of trust. Weâre looking for people who understand how to apply cryptography to problems. While understanding the mathematical backgrounds to cryptography is great, itâs not essential if you understand how the cryptographic primitives like hashing and message signing work together to solve real problems. We value passion and hard work when tackling challenges and above all else although an interest in arts and collectibles is helpful.

**Our product teams each own a different part of the product, building features that improve Geckoboard for our customers. Some of our recent work has ranged from a new send-to-Slack feature, SSO and in the team youâll be joining initially, weâve been building a brand new internal framework for importing, storing, and analysing data from third-party APIs we integrate with. We know that investing in our Data Platform is the best way we can deliver flexible, high-quality integrations quickly and easily. The new framework takes care of managing and scheduling imports, responding to webhooks, receiving analytics queries, migrating data from one version to the next and allows us to build internal gRPC services using a common protobuf interface upon it.
**Platform
**We believe that we can only be successful as an Engineering team if we are constantly and systematically investing in our tooling, our common systems, and our developer experience, this is where our Platform team comes in. Our recent work has ranged from rapid response work to improving test and trace coverage, migrating existing services to Go modules and support for other teams. We're also working on enabling older RESTful services to be migrated onto gRPC with a GraphQL API gateway in front.

While most of our team are normally based in our leafy East London office, a lot of us work remotely at least a day or two during the week. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, our office remains closed and everyone on the team is working from home presently. Weâre likely to continue working from home over the Winter. We are looking for experienced backend engineers to build the Coda platform from scratch. You will be one of the pioneer engineers who contribute to all parts and elements of the data platform we are building, from infrastructure to architecture to development.
