Principal Software Engineer - Edge Data

You will be one of the first engineers working on a brand-new system that Fastly has been prototyping and is now beginning to operationalize. The system applies cutting-edge distributed systems theory — notably, CRDTs — to Fastly's global network to provide an infrastructure for state at the edge.

What You'll Do

  • Learn the distsys theory and Go implementation of the project to proficiency, becoming a technical "co-founder" and owner
  • Optimize system performance to meet Fastly's Internet-scale requirements, via testing, profiling, refactoring, and redesigning
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to define and implement primitives that will power a huge number of future Fastly products
  • Help to design, develop, and participate in a process for onboarding new engineers to the project, with a focus on mentorship and growth
  • Work in a small team that's highly motivated to find new, innovative ways to give our customers new capabilities

What We're Looking For

  • Clear, effective, and empathetic communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when discussing complex technical topics
  • Intermediate+ proficiency with Go (Golang), ideally having built and operated one or more large-scale projects

Golioth is seeking a highly skilled CTO to architect and build the first version of our IoT platform. At Golioth, we are building the Kubernetes for IoT (vision What is Kubernetes for IoT?), based on a culture of security and a great developer experience. COMPENSATION

As a senior software engineer, you will work closely with the CTO, be a critical part of our core team, and have a huge influence over the direction of the company. Job Description

Kava Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer for the Kava lending platform, Kava's blockchain solution enabling decentralized stable coins, bonds, and lending for crypto users. This is a full time remote position. Candidates can apply from time zones ranging from PST (USA Pacific), to CET (Central Europe). You will be directly developing and deploying on a platform that is worth $500M and working to have $1B+ assets under management by the software. You will work alongside a team of world class crypto experts, and take ownership of an open-source project on a platform that transfers millions of dollars in assets daily and provide the financial primitives for the next evolution in crypto. You will have a huge impact on product and technology development.

What You Will Do.

  • Write financial applications using a blockchain application framework written in Go-lang called the Cosmos SDK.
  • Write interoperability software for communicating between blockchains (IBC relayer, BEP 3 Deputy).
  • Write supporting applications and developer tools in Golang that are used by Kava developers or users of the Kava DeFi platform.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Kava codebase and related components of the cosmos-sdk (Kava, Tendermint)
  • Review pull requests and provide valuable feedback to members of the team and open source contributors.
  • Work with Kava blockchain engineers to optimize performance and squash bugs.
  • Report to the Head of Engineering and attend Daily Stand-up meetings via Zoom.

Who You Are.

  • 7+ years minimum as an experienced Backend Engineer, at least 3 years in senior position required.
  • You are a strong individual contributor in Go with 3+ years of experience.
  • You have solid engineering fundamentals, a computer science degree is preferred.
  • You are comfortable working in an open source environment, your work is out there for everyone to see and scrutinize.
  • You are meticulous and detail oriented. This is financial software, it’s of utmost importance that it is secure.

One team is committed towards improving the effectiveness of Customer/Inside Sales Representatives, salespeople who are used to reaching out to prospective or renewing buyers over a phone line and trying to provide a valuable pitch to their customer. The other is dedicated to providing value for Outside Sales Reps, who typically find themselves on the road reaching out to prospects in person. As a member of either pod, you'll build backend systems in innovative and scalable ways with the end-user in mind, ultimately it's your choice which pod you'd like to join.

Our team codes in Python, JavaScript (using the Vue framework), and Go, with modern scalable document- and key-based data stores behind them. We prefer excellence to expediency. Backed by our microservice architecture, we want the best tool not the most convenient. If there’s a compelling case to write something in Clojure, we can and will do it. With strong foundations, specific knowledge of these tools is not required. As an early member of our growing engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to weigh in on design and architectural solutions that shape the company's future.

We're Fuzzbuzz and we're building a fuzzing as a service platform that integrates into CI systems and the modern software testing workflow. About the Team

We're currently a team of 5 people and prefer staying small - allowing us to iterate faster and get very comfortable working with each other (the 3 founders have been roommates since first year university). That means you'll be 16% of the team - all of the work you do will be extremely critical and immediately impact users. We pride ourselves in being a very humble, but capable team - the 2 founding engineers each have 20+ years of engineering experience.

The Challenge

-A depth of knowledge in at least one domain. -Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing complex systems using software. -Experience writing and maintaining software applications in languages such as Golang, Python, Ruby, Java, C#, JavaScript, C, C++, etc. (not just scripts, side projects ok). -Available to work on-site within our San Francisco office, or work remotely on Pacific Standard Time hours. -Familiarity with configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Terraform, CloudFormation). -Experience solving difficult problems with a scripting language (e.g. Bash, Ruby, Python) in a Linux environment.

Bonus points:

About the role

This role will be focused on helping scale the Meter Network Dashboard. Dashboard is at the core of how our user’s manage and observe their networks. It’s also where our future products that build on networks, will live. Meter owns the entire hardware and software stack and this enables us to unlock value for our customers at a scale not seen in the industry yet. You will be a core member of this team - helping craft the vision for this product, building the underlying data models, APIs, and working with a cross-functional team to scale this to thousands of businesses. You will also be working with large data sets that Meter collects in order to provide valuable insights to our customers.

This role is based out of our San Francisco office. Our in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday.

We have a need for a Software Developer to focus on building out new platform services. You will work on a team developing the next generation of core platform capabilities for Acronis, powering the transformation to a Cyber Protection Platform. Our team primarily develops new or generalizes existing applications relevant to core functionality to enable our wide range of applications and integrations.

For this position, we are looking for somebody who either has or is able to quickly demonstrate abilities with some or all of the following technologies:

Golang: all of our new service development is done in Golang.
PostgreSQL: we make heavy use of databases, and we use PostgreSQL primarily.- Kubernetes/Docker/CI Pipelines/MAKE/shell
Operating Systems and User-Machine Software: Acronis interacts heavily with client machines, experience with non-web-service software development, particularly user applications in Windows and Linux.
HTTP APIs: we need people who understand HTTP APIs from verbs to oauth to TLS, as well as familiarity with nginx, DNS and other key application-level technologies.
Python, C#, Java: this will get you bonus points or would be considered in place of Golang, in conjunction with existing basic fluency in Golang and strong skills in SQL and other key areas listed here.

Additional technologies which successful applicant should be able to quickly develop and display competency:

GraphQL: For schema aggregation and presentation usage.
WebSockets/gRPC: Event reactive frontend architectures.
