Job Description

Oscatel is hiring a Full Stack Developer, working in Node.js, Python or Go, to design and implement solutions for a range of projects that underpin operational services for mobile carriers.

We're an established software provider that's bringing development back in house. We're building modular, containerised, solutions - many of which will become long-term products - mainly around operational support services for carriers.

The domain entails data-intensive services where security, data integrity and uptime are key. This presents lots of interesting coding challenges as we build and integrate our technology.

You can anticipate a mix of well-defined greenfield projects, initially focused on implementing the web application for a large customer deliverable, along with substantial exploratory work as we validate concepts and build new solutions, maturing these into products.

We offer a culture where you may work under your own initiative as part of a collaborative effort towards common goals. It's an opportunity to be a formative team member, and to grow and improve together.

Early projects within the team

  • Actively contributing to improve our development culture, methods and automation
  • Building core services in Node.js, Python and Go using GraphQL and gRPC
  • Develop process focussed admin consoles and dashboards for internal and external clients
  • Representing comprehensive data from analytics and alerting tools

We're looking for

  • Someone able to write code that's efficient, robust, documented and well tested
  • Solid theoretical foundations, either through education (e.g. Computer Science) or practice
  • Proven back end coding skills using Node.js, Python or Go
  • Web service writing skills, and familiarity with relational databases e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, accrued in a modern web application context
  • Familiarity with a current JS framework: React/Next.js, Vue.js, Angular etc
  • Broad understanding of unit, service and integration testing
  • Ability to understand complex requirements, to uphold security of sensitive data and to conform to best practices
  • Someone considering mid level full stack jobs in Bristol such as: Full Stack Developer | Node.js Developer | Python Developer | Go Developer | JavaScript Developer | TypeScript Developer | React Developer etc.

Current ecosystem - we'll welcome your influence

Go | Node.js | Python | JavaScript, TypeScript | React/Next.js | GraphQL | gRPC | Elasticsearch | RabbitMQ | Kubernetes | Docker | AWS | Linux | Terraform

Salary and benefits

  • £45,000 - £60,000+ we're keeping an open mind
  • 25 days holiday, plus public holidays and a day for your birthday
  • Flexible and remote working - tell us what you need
  • Personal development plan that you can shape, with budget for related training/certifications

$100,000 to $220,000 a year

This job posting is no longer available

Job Description

Okta's Developer Experience team is looking for an experienced engineer with a love for the Go language, and a desire to work on open source SDKs that will delight our developer community. In this role you will have influence over our Go community strategy, which has a large base of developers working in the Dev Ops arena. Developers building on Okta want tools, written in Go, to facilitate their roll out of applications that leverage Okta as the underlying identity platform.

We currently offer a Go Management SDK, and a Terraform provider. In this role you will have ownership over these SDKs, as well as future SDKs that we create.

Okta's identity platform allows developers at companies of all sizes to integrate modern authentication features and workflows into their own applications. The Developer Experience team is responsible for sharing the love with those developers by identifying common use cases and creating tools and SDKs that make their lives easier, while helping them understand our product and the protocols that we support.

In this role you will be working on the leading edge of our Open Source Software (OSS) program and will gain invaluable experience with library design and development, as well as interacting with a community of engaged developers who use your work on a daily basis. Your code will see production scale usage at many companies, being embedded directly into applications and services that enable internet scale applications with large numbers of end users. This role provides the opportunity to design right, code right, and test right, and deepen your knowledge of the Go ecosystem.

We are a polyglot team and while we are looking for a lover of Go, we also value a generalist mindset and co-learning across stacks. We work closely as a team to design solutions that work across languages and environments.

Interested in the work we do? It's open source, check us out on GitHub ;)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build software development kits (SDKs), written in Go, for developers using the Okta APIs within their web applications and CI/CD workflows.
  • Interact with developers through GitHub on our open-source repositories, responding to issues and reviewing pull requests
  • Participate in software design and code review for all libraries that the team creates
  • Implement holistic testing strategies to assert we're delivering a good developer experience, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Write documentation and how-to content for the libraries that you create

Minimum Skills:

  • 4+ years working as a full-stack web developer (you've written production code, been exposed to backend and frontend problems, have experience deploying your applications, and can empathize with developers across the stack.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Go language
  • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
  • Experience working with a product-oriented, agile culture

Bonus Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform
  • Expertise in other languages, such as Java and Python
  • Experience interacting with other developers on GitHub (e.g. opening issues, contributing to issues, contributing pull requests)
  • Experience building libraries or tools that are used by other developers, either internally within your company or externally on pubic repositories

Job Description

Hunter's product team is hiring a Backend Go developer! You'll become one of the key team members responsible for moving the data side of the Hunter application forward.

We love working as a small team and don't hire frequently. So this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team. You'll be part of the product team alongside Bastien (head of engineering), Bernardo (Backend Go developer), Mark (Ruby on Rails developer), Chris (Designer), François, and Antoine (co-founders).

We’ve set up a great work environment for our team, focusing on autonomy and growth. We take full advantage of the fact we’re entirely remote by focusing primarily on async communication and limiting the number of video meetings. Finally, you’ll get to participate in discussions shaping the future of the product.

About the role

At Hunter, we've been working from the start with one Go application (managing all our data) and one Ruby on Rails application (responding to users' requests). This setup has allowed us to be highly productive while our team stays small. We believe in always finding the most elegant way to build our product, and Go has been the ideal language to crawl, parse, and organize billions of public web pages.

As part of a small group within a young company, you will work on various projects over time, but you can expect that:

  • You'll work on our main Go codebase that gathers, processes, and provides all the data of hunter.io.
  • Within a few weeks, you'll become responsible for significant projects that will improve Hunter by building new critical features in our existing services. Over time, you'll help expand our product line.
  • You'll take part in improving a crawler that processes billions of pages per month ([](https://hunter.io/our-data)[https://hunter.io/our-data](https://hunter.io/our-data))
  • You'll work with the rest of the product team to gradually increase the importance of NLP in our data pipelines.
  • You'll get a high level of autonomy in your work and help shape future development efforts.
  • You'll gather feedback from our Support team to find issues in our current system and improve it.

Hunter is a fully remote team, and this is a remote job. It is open to anyone located in Europe.

About you

  • You have multiple years of experience working with Backend Development. Ideally, you have experience in Go.
  • You enjoy dealing with complex problems and finding elegant solutions.
  • You're confident you can have a high level of autonomy and enjoy making decisions for yourself.
  • You're excited to take ownership of projects, set directions, and make calls. You're able to communicate clearly with your colleagues.
  • You have experience in remote working. You're comfortable working primarily with asynchronous communication and don't need a lot of handholding or supervision.

About us

Salespeople, marketers, and recruiters use Hunter to reach out to the people that matter for their business. We index B2B data from millions of public web pages and make it convenient to explore with simple but powerful tools.

Hunter is the most popular solution to find professional email addresses. It is used by almost 3 million people and leading companies such as Google, Adobe, Microsoft, or IBM.

Working remotely: The Third Light development team embraced remote working a few years ago and now has workers in more than one country. We strive to provide a friendly, fun, supportive remote-working culture and we refine our processes to make remoting easier. We will welcome your ideas and contributions. We provide computing equipment and cover reasonable costs incurred from running a home office.

Normally, as a new starter, you'd come to the office for a few weeks to get to know each other. Due to Coronavirus you will no-doubt join us remotely, at least temporarily, which will bring interesting challenges in how best to introduce you to, and integrate you into, the development team—how to train you, how to help familiarise yourself with our systems and ways of working. We see this as an interesting challenge so we’re working it out at the moment. We're planning a fully-remote ‘onboarding’ process with team meetups, one-to-one sessions and pair programming as well as online social gatherings for you when you join.

If you'd prefer to primarily work from our office this option will still be available to you after lockdown.
