Tooling & Solutions Engineer (Go)

Gevulot is a generic decentralized prover network designed for deploying arbitrary provers as on-chain programs while maintaining performance similar to centralized provers. The vision of Gevulot is to make the creation of performant zk-based systems, such as validity rollups, as easy as deploying smart contracts.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to work closely with our Gevulot partners. Your goal in this position would be to make it more convenient for them to start and keep using the Gevulot network. We are looking for a person who has a wide range of expertise in different technologies/sectors to easily discover, propose, and execute the best solutions. You are comfortable working in CLI and have an excellent routine in thoroughly documenting solutions and instructions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect role or similar
  • Daily use of the wide range of command line tools, container technologies, Go/Rust build systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex systems

About the role

Responsibilities

R&D - Research

  • Architect and design various components of the V1 Pocket Network Protocol
  • Keep up to date and study the latest advances in cryptography, distributed systems, peer-to-peer networks, zero-knowledge proofs and other crypto projects
  • Maintain and improve the protocol specifications to guarantee its security, efficiency and clarity by building diagrams, peer-reviews and periodic updates
  • Build diagrams, write specifications and present results from research with the team and community
  • Participate in design and ideation meetings with the team and community

R&D - Development

  • Implement protocol level features using GoLang
  • Adopt, design and build tooling to optimize and ease the development process of the V1 Pocket Network protocol
  • Write and maintain documentation that’ll reduce the barrier of entry of protocol development to others
  • Work closely with the QA team to align on requirements and build an industry leading test suite to guarantee the security of the network
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure team to align on requirements and build an industry leading infrastructure to deploy, monitor and interact with Pocket nodes

Community Leader

  • Participate in contributor hours, community channels, answer questions, and review external contributions
  • Onboard, mentor and lead new engineers as they join the project either as core team members or external contributors
  • Document new tasks with a high level of detail that can be taken on by other team members or the community
  • Proactively practice, maintain and enforce the use of good software engineering practices and the contribution guide to maintain a healthy codebase
  • Collaborate with the core team and external contributors in both design sessions and pair coding sessions

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field or transferable industry experience
  • Experience in at least one of: GoLang, Python, Rust, C++, Erlang
  • Linux experience
  • Ability to proactively manage tasks, work and operate as part of a team
  • Ability to identify and decompose ambiguous tasks into structured, composable and understandable deliverables

JumpCloud is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join an engineering team focusing on certificate based authentication and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Identity Management (IM) services are a key part of the entire JumpCloud product portfolio. The PKI team’s work will make using JumpCloud even easier and more seamless, while providing a very high level of security.

We're looking for...

  • Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs (including using them as integration points with third-party applications) in a variety of programming languages.
  • Experience using one of the public cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure) with CI/CD pipelines (Travis/CircleCI) to build, test and deploy.
  • Willingness to mentor junior members of the team.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with Python, Docker, feature flags, and BDD.

What you will be doing…

  • Feature implementation through both individual contributions and providing guidance in terms of organization, process and design.
  • Our team uses Go, Node.js, and/or Vue.js.
  • We collaborate closely with architects, UX, and DevOps to ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, performant, and deliver an amazing user experience.
  • We use the scrum framework.
  • Learning and working with cryptography and security concepts, including PKI and TLS/SSL agreement protocols, authentication, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, and related concepts. Bonus points if you have experience with these already.
  • Implementing services for CA operations and PKI management including certificate exchange protocols such as SCEP or EST and revocation. Bonus points if you have experience with these already.
  • Shape the future of our Identity Management services roadmap by participating in planning/scoping conversations with product managers.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $140,000-$180,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions.
