Your role 🙋
Tackle convoluted problems and develop clean, stable solutions that scale. The ideal candidate would be someone who has a genuine passion for designing and implementing elegant software solutions. They would also be intimately familiar (and up to date) with their development ecosystem for making sound decisions when it comes to choosing the right tool or library for the job. We expect our engineers to be able to contribute across the entire product stack, as well as collectively oversee the integrity of the codebase.

AREX is a data-driven FinTech that offers SMEs (Small and medium enterprises) innovative Financing as a Service solutions.

Collaborate to build and scale our core systems and Marketplace. Create and enhance software based on a tech stack composed by Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, AWS EKS (Amazon Kubernetes managed service), GitHub Actions, Git, Docker and a bunch of other cool stuff. Help to keep up an Agile environment, focused in delivery to meet our customers expectations. Design simple solutions to complex business problems, ensuring availability and performance. Volume successfully launched Sommelier’s first iteration as PeggyJV, bringing the Cosmos Ethereum bridge to market and resulted in Sommelier raising a total $25MM in funding to launch the first automated DeFi blockchain to manage Liquidity Provider capital on Ethereum via the Cosmos. Sommelier consists of the Cosmos Stargate SDK, its Tendermint-based consensus layer and a decentralized, bi-directional Ethereum bridge, managed by a global network of validators. About the Role
We're looking for someone with experience architecting, writing, testing and shipping production-quality code in Go, with a background in Ethereum development. You are rigourous and have a refined eye for simple arhitecture and clean code, and you are able to balance tradeoffs inherent in all design decisions.
You enjoy building scalable, fault-tolerant systems. You understand the meaning of value and delivering products that achieve business outcomes while laying the foundation of great tech that affects our entire org, and is impactful. This matters to you.
As a senior engineer, you have a deep understanding of designing robust, well-designed code with thoughtful architecture. You can drive and self-direct major areas of our stack. While not a strict requirement, you are comfortable working with and guiding more intermediate and junior engineers when needed.

The Tech
We're building a distributed system in Go (Golang) to manage devices on the edge, so our systems must function effectively in the absence of a fat, stable pipe between the server and the client. The system extends from the backend in the cloud down to actual management devices, so we've got software, firmware, and hardware engineers all working in tandem. No experience with the other areas of engineering required for this software position; what IS required is that your interest is piqued to learn more about them!
