The role:
The person in this position will be responsible for creating, developing and maintaining services written mainly in Go, to support the Sourcing Automation Squad Group. The day to day work is about understanding the business needs from Product, and having the autonomy to achieve the results developing new features and collaborating with the engineering team, product and stakeholders in planning and evolution of existing features, allowing the product to grow in a sustainable way.
The squad:
The Sourcing Automation team is responsible for all the carrier products created in Loadsmart. These products are developed to help millions of carriers in the United States to keep their trucks full and their drivers happy, allowing them to be more profitable.
Under Sourcing Automation, you will help create these products and establish a one stop shop for carriers across the United States, allowing them to book and haul loads, get paid, plan their schedules and trips and help small to medium carriers to be profitable.

You will help design, create and improve our central automated trading platform, written mostly in Go. A good line of code for you is the one which wasn’t written. You see infrastructure as code and see the deployment and monitoring as an integral part of your work, DevOps-style. You rather try to use a AWS cloud service instead of running your own piece of infrastructure or code. Security is always on your mind, and you’re maybe always a little bit too paranoid. You will also help research developers to port their Code to Golang and maintain code quality. You love to explore new state-of-the-art tools and discuss them with your team. Contributing to Open Source projects (e.g. modules to connect to exchanges) is an important part of your work as well. Our solutions allow merchants to route dynamically a transaction to the best payment provider to optimise their conversion rate. Your main task will be to design and create or maintain micro-services within our infrastructure. Our product handles millions of transactions within a week. The API has its key part on it but the load is also on a multitude of other services.
You will work closely with our technical teams to learn about the possible technical bottle-necks. We have implemented different technologies such as Go (go-kit toolkit, gRPC…), Kubernetes, AWS, PostgreSQL and many others. Your role would be to lead us to new technologies that our product can benefit from.
Our product handles financial data making uptime one of our key KPIs. We expect that you will be able to work on high-availability and technically challenging programs.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to help build Bubbly. Bubbly is a Release Readiness platform currently in development. We are on a mission to help lean software teams continuously release software with confidence and visibility.
About Bubbly:
The initial idea for Bubbly was planted a few years back. DevOps consultants working at Verifa continually received requests from customers for a tool to give them visibility across all their data and pipelines. So we decided to build one! In Summer 2020 with help from Business Finland funding, we built up a team and recently established a new company, Valocode Oy, to focus on Bubbly’s development.
At its core, Bubbly is a very lightweight data platform with data pipelines developed in HCL (HashiCorp Configuration Language). Bubbly aggregates, queries and extracts data from multiple tools in the release process into a single dashboard, providing software teams with visibility and confidence in their release quality. Thus far we have built the core engine and UI, and are working towards releasing Bubbly as a SaaS product later this year. The team are big fans of open source, and Bubbly was recently released in open source public beta. Right now, we are self-funded with plans to secure pre-seed investment this year.
We are a small dedicated team consisting of both technical knowhow and business acumen, and we are currently looking for two more team members - Frontend Developer and Senior Backend Developer. So there is plenty of room to take a leading role in developing a brand new product. And as we are an early stage startup, there is the possibility to have ownership ín the company.
About the role:
You will have a crucial role in developing the Bubbly backend which is entirely written in Golang. We are using NATS and a service-oriented architecture (not quite microservice) where the services communicate via NATS message queues. Postgres is the primary database right now, but we have plans for immutable, append-only databases in the future for more compliance-related activities. As the team was founded from a DevOps company, Verifa, we enjoy our DevOps practices and would hope you will enjoy it also.

Golang: all of our new service development is done in Golang.

Operating Systems and User-Machine Software: Acronis interacts heavily with client machines, experience with non-web-service software development, particularly user applications in Windows and Linux.
