We are a startup headquartered in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC. We are a small, close-knit team working to upend the RMM market with our new product. We have recently launched and have acquired our first customers. Though we are a startup, our investors have given us a multi-year runway.
Currently, our agent team is made up of a single amazing developer. This hire will join them to expand the agent team. This developer should be an experienced self-starter that can make an impact on our product development. We aren't interested in someone that just wants to work down a list of pre-defined tasks. Our ideal candidate loves working on products and will help shape the direction of ours. We're going to be improving this product for years and want someone to come on this journey with us.
We really like the Basecamp philosophy and try to make sure that it doesnât have to be crazy at work. We wonât ask that you work weekends, or late into the night. We donât mind if you need to leave for an appointment in the middle of the day. We understand that software development doesnât happen for 8 hours straight and donât worry about counting time in the chair. We trust that given a fair timeline with a scope that you help us determine you will be able to deliver features. We are concerned with the end goal, not micromanaging you on the way there.

We're looking for someone great but we're an early-stage startup. We are offering a rate of 120k plus profit sharing (once we have profits đ ). We hope to grow quickly and are committed to increasing the base pay of everyone on the team at each stage of growth.

Our customers have millions of users; they use Stream for mission critical features such as showing content and exposing core functionality of their application. Building stable and reliable software is not just an option: as a member of the development team, you will design and write state-of-the-art software, follow best practices, measure everything and be responsible for deployment to production. You will also spend part of your time talking to our customers and help them to use Stream in their app.

The Role
As a Backend Software Engineer on the Fugue Product team, you will lend a hand in designing, implementing, and automating the deployment of new features in our SaaS application. You will work with the Product team to create robust and highly scalable systems that interact with the AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud APIs. You will work with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform and CloudFormation and will contribute to various open source projects written in Go like our Regula project for IaC security. We use serverless technologies including Lambda and Fargate in AWS. This role involves working in Go primarily, but also Python and Javascript from time to time.
In short, this position may be a great fit if youâre a Go developer looking to learn more about AWS, Azure, and Google clouds while working as part of a small but mighty team.
Requirements
Experience with one of AWS, Azure, or Google clouds would be ideal, but is not a hard requirement. If you have experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code technologies, then thatâs a bonus. You may also be involved with the k6 cloud integration, a SaaS service built on top of k6. Specifically, the parts of the cloud service written in Go, that orchestrates a distributed k6 test across 17 data centers around the world.
