JumpCloud is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join an engineering team focusing on certificate based authentication and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Identity Management (IM) services are a key part of the entire JumpCloud product portfolio. Along with our Authentication and Authorization services, IM provides the foundation for our identity and security solutions, both cloud and device based. The PKI team’s work will make using JumpCloud even easier and more seamless, while providing a very high level of security.

We're looking for...

• Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs (including using them as integration points with third-party applications) in a variety of programming languages.
• Experience using one of the public cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure) with CI/CD pipelines (Travis/CircleCI) to build, test and deploy.
• Willingness to mentor junior members of the team.
• Bonus points if you have experience with Python, Docker, feature flags, and BDD.

What you will be doing…

• Feature implementation through both individual contributions and providing guidance in terms of organization, process and design.
• Our team uses Go, Node.js, and/or Vue.js.
• We collaborate closely with architects, UX, and DevOps to ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, performant, and deliver an amazing user experience.
• We use the scrum framework.
• Learning and working with cryptography and security concepts, including PKI and TLS/SSL agreement protocols, authentication, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, and related concepts. Bonus points if you have experience with these already.
• Implementing services for CA operations and PKI management including certificate exchange protocols such as SCEP or EST and revocation. Bonus points if you have experience with these already.
• Shape the future of our Identity Management services roadmap by participating in planning/scoping conversations with product managers.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $140,000-$180,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. A Backend Developer at Meshify will have the opportunity to work on a myriad of projects and applications. We have just finished 1.0 of our platform rewrite, entitled Carbon. It is a full scale redesign and rewrite of our legacy platform. We migrated from an old .NET API server to Go, from MySQL to ScyllaDB (Cassandra) for time-series data, and from MySQL to Postgres for relational data. It includes a query and analytics engine, highly customizable rules and notifications engine, and even custom javascript code triggered by messages in the data pipeline (Lambda Engine). Future projects will include a Hardware Identity Server providing identity and security to our hardware, simple integration with big data tooling, improved GPS rule processing, integration with common ticketing systems like Pager Duty, and more.

First Few Months

• Build out data pipeline ingest tooling from other transports

How we work

We are remote first

We value amazing work and a strong work-life balance. The majority of our collaboration happens on Slack and Zoom. We get together quarterly for team offsites so we can get some facetime (Covid Pending).

Salary Transparency

We believe that financial transparency creates trust, and that teams with a high level of trust are able to execute more effectively. We view salary transparency as a way to challenge a rampant problem in our industry: the wage gap. The base salary for any two employees in the same role is the same. Performance in that role is the differentiator, not upfront negotiation.
