About the role

This role will be focused on helping scale the Meter Network Dashboard. Dashboard is at the core of how our user’s manage and observe their networks. It’s also where our future products that build on networks, will live. You will be a core member of this team - helping craft the vision for this product, building the underlying data models, APIs, and working with a cross-functional team to scale this to thousands of businesses. This role is based out of our San Francisco office. Our in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday.

  • Design, implement and document Waku Golang libraries (go-waku)

  • Maintain, improve, troubleshoot Waku React Native, the React Native wrapper of go-waku

  • Implement new protocols as defined by the Research Team

  • Investigate and fix issues in go-waku and upstream libraries such as go-libp2p

  • Optimize go-waku and upstream libraries for the mobile/React Native

  • Support dApp developers in using go-waku and Waku Golang libraries

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in software development
  • Knowledge, understanding and ability to select and analyze the performance of classical algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to write and maintain code in accordance with the Go style guide
  • Experience in multithreaded programming and development of asynchronous applications
  • Good understanding of the network stack and TCP / IP, HTTP in particular
  • Knowledge of Go-testing and debugging tools
  • Performance analysis and optimization
  • Knowledge of Git, good Linux / Unix proficiency
  • Teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and understand someone else's code
  • Good English level, ability to read technical documentation

Would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of Python, C/C++ or any other programming language
  • Experience in open-source projects
  • Knowledge of Internet security basics
  • Knowledge and ability to select suitable data serialization algorithms
  • Familiarity with embedded databases (storage engines) BoltDB, LevelDB and / or others
  • Integration with C code and libraries

Job Description

Position: Senior or Lead Full Stack Engineer

Total Comp: $150K - $270K (dependent on experience level and work location)

Total Comp includes: Base salary, Cisco RSUs + 12-15% performance bonus + 401k matching (up to 4.5%) + sign-on bonus

Location: Fully Remote anywhere in the US or Canada. Partial onsite work is available in SF, San Jose, Chicago, or Austin (post covid)

Our full-stack engineers are well versed in a wide array of CS concepts and excited to jump around languages, platforms, and all levels of the Meraki stack!

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop tools for customers to configure and monitor networking devices all over the world.
  • Build intuitive and powerful workflows to solve important problems for IT professionals around the world, by collaborating with product managers and UX designers.
  • Be a technical leader by helping other engineers make architectural design decisions while evangelizing engineering best practices.

WHAT YOU MAY HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience writing professional production code and tests.
  • 3+ years of experience in building rich web UIs with React (and Redux).
  • 3+ years of experience in web backend technologies, like Ruby on Rails or Go.
  • Would thrive in a small engineering team and are excited to solve open-ended problems across the stack.
  • Are a strong leading individual contributor and want to grow into a tech lead role.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and Postgres.
  • Experience or willing to work in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Have working knowledge of network protocols used on both local and wide-area networks.
