Ability to work from home, but travel to our DC headquarters office when needed.

• Proactively and clearly communicate dependencies and technical hurdles to the team
• Own the development and maintenance of backend CnSight® services to include associated open-source product and CI/CD pipeline
• Build high-quality software in Go that integrate with 3rd party APIs
• Maintain and build new frontend components in React/Redux.
• Work with data sets, developing complex PostgreSQL queries that deliver expected outcomes
• Participate in requirements gathering and troubleshooting activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in CS, IT
• 3 years experience in software development as a well-rounded Go, Rust or C/C++ developer working in technically complex environments, data warehouse, building REST APIs, microservices architecture, automated CI/CD tools and processes, as well as Linux, etc.
• 1+ years of enterprise experience writing advanced SQL queries and a willingness and ability to grow in this area
• Experience across multiple frontend technologies, specifically: Document Object Model (DOM), JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS
• In-depth understanding of OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, data integrity, software composability, and concurrency
• High attention to detail and curious, with ability to logically (efficiently) and independently troubleshoot technical issues, removing blockers using creative approaches
• Highly collaborative team player with ability to build trust and relationships, holding each other accountable for their best possible effort

About the role

This role will be focused on helping scale the Meter Network Dashboard. Dashboard is at the core of how our user’s manage and observe their networks. It’s also where our future products that build on networks, will live. Meter owns the entire hardware and software stack and this enables us to unlock value for our customers at a scale not seen in the industry yet. You will be a core member of this team - helping craft the vision for this product, building the underlying data models, APIs, and working with a cross-functional team to scale this to thousands of businesses. You will also be working with large data sets that Meter collects in order to provide valuable insights to our customers.

This role is based out of our San Francisco office. Our in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows

• $120,000 – $242,000
• Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan.

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the Bay Area. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience.

For this role, we're looking for someone who enjoys designing, writing, and supporting Open Source libraries and standalone tools for developers and administrators using MongoDB.

• The mongomirror tool, a utility for migrating data from an existing MongoDB replica set to MongoDB Atlas (our cloud Database-as-a-Service)
• Testing, delivering and supporting the above list across multiple operating systems and versions of MongoDB

You'll have responsibilities beyond just code, including...

• Working with our Product and Server teams on designs and specifications for new customer-facing MongoDB features
• Investigating bugs and support requests from commercial and Open Source customers for the libraries and tools our team maintains
• Seeking out speaking or writing opportunities to evangelize to developer communities

Success in this role means...

• Within three months, you'll know most of the codebase you are responsible for and will be contributing effectively day-to-day fixing bugs, implementing already-planned features and doing peer code-review
• Within six months, you'll have implemented several major, planned new features in the driver or tools; you'll be able to respond effectively to technical support escalations for the codebases you know best; you'll have the trust of the team and our internal customers
• Within a year, you'll have delivered several new releases of our software, will have significantly improved the quality, performance and maintainability of our codebase, and will be able to independently scope and design new features of moderate complexity
