About the Company
We're hiring for a well-funded, pre-launch startup building software for a large, underserved industry. The founding team has deep domain expertise and is looking for one of the first backend engineers to help build the platform from the ground up.
This is a true founding engineering role with significant ownership over architecture and technical decisions.
What You'll Work On
You'll own core platform services including:
- Authentication and authorization
- Identity verification (KYC)
- Customer onboarding
- Subscription billing and payments (Stripe)
- Multi-tenant access control
- Backend architecture and APIs
You'll work closely with the Head of Engineering to design and build critical backend systems from scratch.
Tech Stack
- Go
- PostgreSQL
- AWS
- Microservices / Event-driven architecture
- Stripe
- AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
The stack is still evolving, so you'll have significant influence over technical decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience
- Strong Go experience
- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge
- Experience building distributed backend systems
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Comfortable owning deployments, monitoring, and production systems

- Payment or financial systems

- Multi-tenant SaaS
- PCI, SOC2, GDPR or similar compliance experience
