Senior Database Systems Engineer

A well-funded infrastructure automation company (recently valued above $1B) is building a greenfield product that automatically optimizes PostgreSQL and MySQL in production environments.

What You’ll Build

• Automated query analysis and optimization
• Index recommendation systems
• Performance and cost optimization services
• Integrations with PostgreSQL and MySQL protocols
• Cloud DB integrations (RDS, Cloud SQL, Azure Database)
• Monitoring for database health and performance

Tech Stack

• Go (primary)
• C++ in performance-critical paths
• PostgreSQL, ClickHouse
• gRPC, REST
• Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo
• GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Helm
• Envoy extensions

Requirements

• Strong production experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
• Experience debugging slow queries and optimizing indexes
• Background as DBA, backend engineer, or SRE
• Strong Go and/or C++ skills
• Solid understanding of query planning, transactions, WAL, indexing
• Comfortable troubleshooting complex production systems
• Fluent English
• Startup mindset
