Senior Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the backend serving millions of listeners across our mobile sleep apps (Slumber and Deep Sleep Sounds). You will oversee our multi-tenant Go API, Angular admin panel, and core infrastructure while driving backend development primarily through AI coding agents.

Stack & Environment

• Backend: Go, Gin framework, MySQL, GORM
• Frontend: Angular, Angular Material, pnpm, RxJS
• Infrastructure: DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Google Cloud

The Work

• Maintain our multi-tenant Go API serving complex app libraries alongside the Angular admin panel used daily by content producers.
• Manage and scale our media processing pipelines for audio compression and dynamic image management.
• Engineer multi-tenant notification services, campaign workflow engines, and webhook ingestion pipelines.
• Build high-reliability subscription infrastructure and payment system integrations.
• Lead customer data governance and execute zero-downtime data migrations at scale.
• Enforce strict REST API design standards across all backend endpoints in close collaboration with mobile engineering teams.

• Plan technical specifications, direct AI coding agents, and run rigorous code review gates.
• Enforce deterministic testing standards, utilizing table-driven tests and structured subtests to ensure high coverage and prevent regressions.

Requirements

• Experience operating production-grade Go services through incidents, system migrations, and major upgrades.
• Advanced relational database skills across schema design, query indexing, and live-data migrations.
• Proficiency in running Linux-based VMs and services.

Good to Have

• Experience designing and scaling multi-tenant software architectures and isolated data models.
• Familiarity with push notification providers (e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging) and webhook integration architecture.
• Experience integrating third-party payment providers (e.g. Stripe) and building subscription or paywalled content architectures.
