Job Description

About us:

Atos is a global leader in digital transformation with 110,000 employees and over €12 Billion in revenues. Our clients include a plethora of organisations, amongst with the UK department of defence, the International Olympics Committee, the NHSx and many more. As a contract backend engineer you will be working in the Atos Cerebro division, a full-stack fast-paced engineering team at Atos. We’re a cross-skilled team of product, design, engineering and data experts. We help our clients build, deliver and support digital products and services. Each dedicated product team is responsible for all aspects of what they are building, operating independently. This not only allows for fast-paced development and pivots, it facilitates passionate, close-knit teams that work closely together to achieve their goals. Our teams work in close collaboration with our clients and their users. Many of us have experience across a wide range of industries from finance, gaming, retail, government, energy and media to name a few.

Who you are:

You enjoy learning about the customer’s pains and gains, and building products which solve real-world problems. You can work autonomously in a small cross-functional team and can communicate well with team members. Equally you are able to effectively contribute to technology decisions across multiple teams. You are firmly focussed on delivering business value and results to end-users. Along with this you have a commercial mindset, with demonstrated ability to make fact based trade offs. You have prior experience building greenfield products for unfamiliar industries. Familiar with the entire software development lifecycle. Experience working in start-ups or large corporations (ideally both!) is also a huge benefit. You can demonstrate a broad knowledge of available modern technologies and like to experiment with finding the best solution for specific tasks outside your core skill set.

What you’ll do:

You should be able to demonstrate prior professional experience of the following activities that you’ll do:

  • Management of large datasets - you will help design, implement and monitor highly-resilient data pipelines whose purpose is to load, transform and validate billions of rows every month
  • You will work on highly critical financial datasets and reporting, with billions of asset under management. You will use technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Firestore and more
  • Most of our infrastructure is event-driven and horizontally scalable using best-of-breed technologies like PubSub, server-less Cloud Functions and BigQuery, you will make architectural and design decisions to tackle new problems whislt keeping the system reliable and resilient to failure
  • Develop and test your code to the best standards
  • Apply cloud security practices such as principles of least privilege, auditing and monitoring, secrets management, identity and roles management and more
  • Review your peer’s code and collaboratively improve the codebase
  • Setup, maintain and improve CI/CD processes to effortlessly deliver quality software to production
  • Our cloud infrastructure is solely managed through code (IaC) using terraform and terraform cloud. You will setup and maintain relevant cloud infrastructure (mostly GCP, Azure)
  • Monitor and support your applications
  • Support the product owner in sizing and prioritising work
  • Keep a handle on technical debt, whilst shipping new features

Job Description

tl;dr: We're looking for an excellent engineer with solid Go experience to join our small, distributed development team. We're in Los Angeles, San Francisco & Paris; substantial time-zone overlap with CET (Paris) is key because our lead frontend engineer lives & works there.

Who we are

At Synthro, we are creating Foam, a new paradigm to collect, organize, create, and share your data, to help people think better together.

While we have developed core elements of the experience, we have many technical challenges ahead. Our team collaborates and leverages process, automated testing and group decision-making to get stuff done.

Our technology environment is Linux based, runs in AWS and utilizes Go, React, and JavaScript. We are leveraging an array of AWS services to deliver our solution and extensively take advantage of open-source solutions.

We're in the scrappy startup phase: we all work from home, even before the pandemic.

Role overview

We're hiring a Backend Developer to work with our team. You will focus on the backend for our web app. You will work closely with our frontend developer and be responsible for the API, data models, architecture, and AWS environment.

We love junior developers, but this role is for someone senior.

About you

Here's how to tell if you'd be a good fit for this job.

Must-haves

  • You've built and shipped Go services (RESTful, HTTP), preferably something you can share with us
  • You dream in idiomatic Go (2+ years experience highly desired)
  • You don’t feel like you’re done until you have 85% unit test coverage
  • You have solid knowledge of Postgres, specifically stored procedures & triggers
  • You have solid working knowledge of core AWS services (ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, Cloudfront, Route 53)
  • Your git history reflects you’re an excellent written (and verbal) communicator

Nice-to-haves

  • You have worked from home or remotely for a distributed team
  • You have experience with infrastructure-as-code (we use Terraform on AWS)
  • You live in or within an hour of CET (Paris)

Why you might want to work with us

  • We're small, so there are no layers of bureaucracy to work through. You can have a huge impact here.
  • We have as few meetings as we can get away with.
  • You can work remotely as long as you have substantial overlap with our primary time zones, Pacific and Central European. We call these “office” hours.
  • Outside of “office” hours, you can work whenever you like.

Why you might not want to work with us

  • We’re a startup, with all the good and bad that comes with that.
  • We’re a small team. At the end of the day, you need to be able to solve your own problems.
  • You own the infrastructure so you need to deal with it when it breaks.

Pay

We're looking for someone great, not someone cheap. If you're expensive but amazing, we can probably make it work.

Job Description

About Upfluence

Upfluence helps brands tell their story with powerful influencer & content marketing technology. Upfluence’s software allows brands and agencies to identify and contact millions of social influencers and bloggers at scale to execute comprehensive influencer marketing campaigns, as well as provide detailed reporting metrics. Since the launch of our SaaS software in January 2017, the company has yielded a monthly double-digit growth rate, and we are therefore seeking further expansion for our team and offices. Our rapidly growing global team is currently distributed between our offices in NYC, Los Angeles, Switzerland, and Lyon.

We are now looking for a talented and passionate Back-end Engineer who, together with the product team, will take part in creating and constantly improving the online platform.

What we do

  • Our platform aggregates, keeps up to date and serves the content of 5M of influencers across all trending social networks of the internet. This raises a certain amount of engineering challenges related to data, scalability and performance. At the scale we’re at, the naĂŻve solution often isn’t enough.
  • Our backend stack is focused around Golang / Ruby as programming languages, PostgreSQL, Apache Cassandra as database systems, Elasticsearch as a search engine, RabbitMQ as message broker. Also, we use Apache Thrift for RPC and Prometheus for monitoring to name a few.
  • We’re firm believers of micro service architecture and domain driven design, making our codebase highly flexible and reusable. Some parts of our production have actually been running for more than 5 years!
  • We’re DevOps minded. Our backend engineers ship to production multiple times a day and are responsible for their production. We’re always working towards reducing the maintenance toil by automating as much as possible our processes using tools like Github actions or our own in-house frontend deployer.
  • We’re running around 50 applications in production, making it around 1600 containers live, across 90 servers. Not to mention that we’ve been running containers in production for more than 7 years. We’re currently in the works of moving our production workload to Kubernetes.
  • We’re product-centric: we’re not writing code for the sake of it, but to provide the best service to our customers.
  • We strongly believe that collective intelligence is the very root of success for an engineering organization. Each and everyone has a word to say regarding the technical implementation of a feature. That’s why we rely on tools like proposals and RFCs to encourage this culture, as the best companies in the field do.
  • We love open source and contribute to it by opening our own libraries to share them with as many people as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Writing highly reliable, maintainable and tested code that makes the correct assumptions based on the context. You know that in our field, everything is a matter of tradeoffs.
  • Getting involved in the feature lifecycle, from its inception, through its technical design and implementation, to its maintenance in production 3 months / years after releasing it ;-).
  • Work in collaboration with the team, get involved in mentoring juniors, reviewing PRs and writing RFCs. Being at ease with written communication is a must.
  • Work hand in hand with Customer Success and Support teams, to make sure our customers have the best experience using our product.

Who we are looking for

  • You’re eager to discover how our product works and you’re keen to learn and master its technologies. We’re looking for enthusiastic people and great learners who go beyond the tools, not technical experts. Of course, if you already have experience with our stack that’s a plus, but definitely not a requirement.
  • You like to work in a team and to take on challenges, and you are fluent or comfortable working in English. Our team is based mostly in France, but speaking French is not a requirement.
  • You’re reliable: You keep your word when you can, communicate early on and come up with solutions when it looks like [we || you] are running into a wall.
  • You’re not afraid to ask questions and raise issues.
  • You’re a team player.
  • You care about the product and strive to make something useful.

What we can offer you

  • Your spot with the team in one of our awesome Lyon or LA offices, or even remote, either way is fine with us. You’ll be answering issues on Github and making bad jokes on Discord anyway!
  • An entrepreneurial and dynamic startup environment with room for growth;
  • A mixed and international team (10+ nationalities);
  • An empowering and autonomous position in an entrepreneurial environment;
  • Regular exchanges with the US/FR offices;
  • Company shares;
  • The answer to life, the universe and everything;
  • Join a motivated and growing team!

Sounds like the perfect opportunity? Apply now to join us!

Upfluence is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Interview Process

The interview process would go through 4 steps as followed:

  1. After sending your resume, the team is in charge of reviewing and selecting candidates: if you are selected, you'll have the chance to discuss for a 1st interview with 2 members of the team;
  2. If the interview goes well, the team will send a little technical test your way for completion;
  3. Upon the test being sent back, the team is charge of reviewing it and we program a second interview to debrief it with you;
  4. If the test and debrief interview were successful, the last stage consists in an interview with at least one of the founders of the company, to get to know more about you and what you want to accomplish with us.

Senior Go Engineer

$120,000 to $120,000 a year
November 2021
1 Applicants This Week

Job Description

Level is building a modern remote monitoring and management solution. We are a small, well-funded, team that recently launched our product. We are searching for a strong, multi-talented individual contributor who is comfortable with systems-level programming and networking who can contribute to our agent, written in Go.

Must-Haves

  • Deep knowledge of a systems language like C, Rust, or Go.
  • Not afraid to dig into an RFC. Low-level internals excites you, rather than scares you away.
  • Experience with system-level APIs in Windows (win32), macOS, and/or Linux.
  • Excellent written communicator.
  • Willing to learn and work with Go.

Nice-to-Haves

  • You are comfortable using GCC, and find yourself at home going through a C codebase.
  • Familiarity with RPC and common methods of IPC such as sockets and named pipes.
  • Video encoding experience. You have worked with VP8 and understand the spec.
  • Building cross-platform libraries, our Go agent compiles to Windows, Darwin, and Linux on a variety of architectures.

Things you might work on

  • Building a cross-platform patch management system to give users control over OS updates.
  • Working with VP8 to reduce the latency and bandwidth when streaming a device.
  • Creating a system tray GUI for the agent.
  • Expanding desktop streaming to work on Mac and Linux.
  • Adding a proxy to the agent to enable remote access to routers and switches.
  • Implementing Trickle ICE to improve WebRTC connection times.

Why you might want to work with us

  • We are a small, fully remote engineering team, and there are no layers of bureaucracy. You can have a huge impact here.
  • We are very flexible with working hours, we don't expect you to work a consistent block of time, we trust you to get your work done.
  • We've recently launched and are starting to grow.
  • We will offer profit sharing so our small team will receive dividends on profits the company makes.

Why you might not want to work with us

  • We are an early-stage startup, and while we are well funded, we are careful with our runway and haven't splurged on extra perks like gym memberships or 401k matching. You want to work with a large team. We do not intend to hire more until it is painful enough to warrant doing so.

More About Us

We are a startup headquartered in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC. We are a small, close-knit team working to upend the RMM market with our new product. We have recently launched and have acquired our first customers. Though we are a startup, our investors have given us a multi-year runway.

Currently, our agent team is made up of a single amazing developer. This hire will join them to expand the agent team. This developer should be an experienced self-starter that can make an impact on our product development. We aren't interested in someone that just wants to work down a list of pre-defined tasks. Our ideal candidate loves working on products and will help shape the direction of ours. We're going to be improving this product for years and want someone to come on this journey with us.

We really like the Basecamp philosophy and try to make sure that it doesn’t have to be crazy at work. We won’t ask that you work weekends, or late into the night. We don’t mind if you need to leave for an appointment in the middle of the day. We understand that software development doesn’t happen for 8 hours straight and don’t worry about counting time in the chair. We trust that given a fair timeline with a scope that you help us determine you will be able to deliver features. We are concerned with the end goal, not micromanaging you on the way there.

About the Application Process

Collaboration and communication are a critical aspect of how we work, a cover letter is a great way to provide a sample of how you communicate.

In your cover letter, please describe why you’re interested in working at Level, and what draws you to this role in particular. Specifics of your past experience that are relevant to this role are great to include, too.

Pay

We're looking for someone great but we're an early-stage startup. We are offering a rate of 120k plus profit sharing (once we have profits 😅). We hope to grow quickly and are committed to increasing the base pay of everyone on the team at each stage of growth.

Job Description

About Fugue

Fugue helps engineers build and operate secure cloud infrastructure. We continuously monitor infrastructure-as-code and cloud resources for our customers, report on vulnerabilities that we find, and help remediate the underlying issues. Our platform and open source tools are used in CI/CD pipelines to spot misconfigurations early and fix them before they are deployed to production environments.

We are headquartered in Frederick, MD and have always been remote-friendly. This year we took that one step further and now are remote-first, but we also aim to provide office space to those who want it.

Our Product Team

Engineering at Fugue is part of our Product team. We’re a friendly, small, and nimble group of experienced engineers who are having a great time building and scaling the Fugue SaaS. We care about cloud security and helping our customers find and fix security vulnerabilities. We find a lot of satisfaction in working with incredibly considerate, collaborative, and curious teammates.

The Role

As a Backend Software Engineer on the Fugue Product team, you will lend a hand in designing, implementing, and automating the deployment of new features in our SaaS application. You will work with the Product team to create robust and highly scalable systems that interact with the AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud APIs. You will work with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform and CloudFormation and will contribute to various open source projects written in Go like our Regula project for IaC security. We use serverless technologies including Lambda and Fargate in AWS. This role involves working in Go primarily, but also Python and Javascript from time to time.

In short, this position may be a great fit if you’re a Go developer looking to learn more about AWS, Azure, and Google clouds while working as part of a small but mighty team.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Go
  • Knowledge of web technologies and Linux proficiency
  • Track record of problem solving and helping ship software products
  • Interest in cloud engineering and cloud security
  • Proficiency with automated testing and CI/CD

Experience with one of AWS, Azure, or Google clouds would be ideal, but is not a hard requirement. If you have experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code technologies, then that’s a bonus. We also work with these tools and technologies, so any background with these is a plus: Open Policy Agent, Swagger APIs, MySQL, Redshift, Docker, and serverless computing in AWS.

More about Fugue

The principles that matter most to us as a company are to be Curious, Considerate, Customer obsessed, Collaborative, and Committed. Working on a team that lives by these principles is tremendously important both for personal job satisfaction and also our overall productivity and success as a team.

We offer competitive compensation, a great healthcare plan, and a remote-friendly culture.

Some of our customers include SparkPost, A&E Networks, and SAP NS2. Plus we offer a free Developer plan for use by any engineer that is looking to secure their cloud.

At Fugue we believe that the only way to build a successful company is by building a diverse team of talented, smart individuals. We know that humans are better together than alone. Whether or not the government provides protection, we do not discriminate against anyone for any reason. Here’s the standard EEO statement - know that we believe in it!

Fugue provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation or veteran status. In addition to federal law requirements, Fugue complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities.
