What will you do at Social Point?
As a Lead Backend Engineer you will manage a team of backend developers and guide them towards successful project deliveries.
To achieve sustainable results, you should be providing technical leadership through coaching and mentorship and maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits. You will also be in charge of identifying and encouraging areas for growth and improvement within the team and work in collaboration with other backend leads and departments on company-wide projects.
Our backends are developed using several technologies and programming languages (Golang, PHP, Python,Lua, etc…), so you should not be afraid to work with our existing code, extend, maintain and continuously refactor the backend of our games.
As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will also work in designing and implementing high available systems for the server part of our games. You will be part of our games team and work closely with systems engineers, game developers and other departments. You will be integrated in business decisions as part of our technology strategy.

With our Runtime & Integrated Apps team, your mission is to design and implement fault-tolerant distributed systems and create the supporting features that they leverage. The platform is at the core of Netlify, where you’ll be developing software that powers the lifecycle of a web request, enables developers to interact with the edge, and strives for better availability and higher throughput. About You
You are an engineer who enjoys developing products and you consider yourself a networking and distributed systems aficionado. Ambassador Labs is a remote-friendly company with “pods” in Boston, Portland and Montreal. Our pods are a way of bridging the gap between being 100% remote and working in an office. You will work with Golang, Kubernetes, Typescript, React, and many advanced technologies to build the cloud developer workspace of the future.
You’ve worked as a software engineer for at least five years (including relevant internships)
You're skilled in languages and technologies for systems-level engineering, e.g. C/C++, Rust, and Golang (especially but not necessarily). You are skilled in front-end technologies such as Typescript or React.
You care deeply about your craft. We build to last. Our customers deploy our software on-premises, so we want to make sure we get things right the first time. And we’re going to build a SaaS product, so automated testing will be essential for continuous delivery.

During these two weeks, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and one of our Co-Founders. If you interview for a position requiring a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time.

🔧 What will you do?
The Platform Services team is responsible for creating and managing the platforms that power our products. For us, that means providing our teams with reliable, resilient, and performant data ingestion / data access systems. We ingest massive amounts of data, process it, and make it available for further use as quickly as possible. As a member of our team, you will have an opportunity to work on all aspects of these systems, typically using a combination of Go, Kubernetes, and hosted Google Cloud Services for your daily tasks.
While you'll occasionally work on the APIs and data pipelines that power our user-facing systems, you'll spend most of your time building the platforms that make the API and data pipeline work possible for other teams without our direct involvement. You'll work regularly with operations and other platform teams to continually enhance the stability of our systems, and you'll also work alongside our feature and data science teams to enhance our service offerings.
