Discern is a compliance operating system. We built Discern to automate entity management by monitoring foreign registration nexus, entity status/standing, automating filing requirements, and acting as a Registered Agent.
We're currently a small team with big aspirations. You will be starting as a founding engineering team member working directly with the VP, Engineering, Principal Engineer, Lead Product Designer and all Co-Founders. This role will be focused on helping scale the Meter Network Dashboard. Dashboard is at the core of how our user’s manage and observe their networks. It’s also where our future products that build on networks, will live. Meter owns the entire hardware and software stack and this enables us to unlock value for our customers at a scale not seen in the industry yet. You will be a core member of this team - helping craft the vision for this product, building the underlying data models, APIs, and working with a cross-functional team to scale this to thousands of businesses. You will also be working with large data sets that Meter collects in order to provide valuable insights to our customers.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a full-time backend engineer. Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience building event driven microservices or service oriented architectures and has built most facets, if not all, in a "twelve-factor" app. Preference is for real experience (2+ years) in our primary language of Golang, but other languages are considered when able to quickly pick up new technologies. Additional experience in integrating with 3rd party systems, event-driven architecture, databases, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, etc) are important.
You will directly influence how and what to build, and must be comfortable collaborating on the architecture, code, product, etc as we have a strong culture of devops as well as being technically curious, thoughtful and purposeful in what we build. We value deploying frequently with well-written, maintainable, instrumented and tested code to a kubernetes cluster.
