Your work will directly help influencers pursue their dreams and assist some of the biggest brands in the world in streamlining their influencer marketing efforts.

What we need

We’re looking for a dedicated, passionate, innovative, and security-oriented Backend Web Developer to work on bringing PowerSpike’s databases and API’s to life. Reporting directly to the head of development, you will be responsible for building bug-free data solutions which will deliver information to influencers, brands and advertisers to help them make critical marketing decisions for their spends. We have enormous and engaging technical challenges. We are designing an API that can drop easily into any one of dozens of ecommerce platforms, proprietary and off-the-shelf, hosted and on-site. We need to verify online identity and predict fraud while providing a beautiful and frictionless consumer experience, and mine user and financial information to approve and price credit, all in real time. And we are using technology to explore new approaches to consumer credit marketplaces that have never been attempted before.

We are looking to hire a senior engineer to join the current technology team in continuing to build out our core platform and product. This senior engineer will:

• be responsible for leading design and implementation of new features and iterations of our core platform
• continue to develop our core infrastructure for Bread’s scalable and reliable services
• deliver new working code every two weeks in a fast-paced, code-focused agile development environment
• work with the rest of the engineering team to deliver new functionality to face merchants, consumers, investors, and internal users
• design new iterations of our merchant integration APIs

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of server-side languages and data stores (our system is built with Go/Golang and PostgreSQL, but we’re also happy to speak with those that have strong backend experience with other languages, including JVM languages like Java or Scala; Python; or C++)

As a systems engineer, you will work with our blockchain developers, protocol researchers and clients to implement and improve on a byzantine fault tolerant blockchain architecture based on the Tendermint consensus layer, by increasing the throughput, reliability and stability of the network. This role is ideal for engineers who have experience optimizing performance and robustness of distributed systems, and are excited to be working on the cutting edge of high-performance blockchain protocol development.

You might have experience as an Unix/Linux distributed systems engineer optimizing performance and reliability for large-scale cloud servers, and be relatively new to blockchain and distributed consensus protocols. Or you might be a blockchain engineer who is very familiar with distributed consensus protocols like delegated proof-of-stake, and newer to working on low-level performance optimizations. 🛠️ Your Skills

• You have great experience building microservices and are interested in working with Go.
• You know how to structure your code correctly, isolating the business logic from the rest of the application.
• You know how to test your application, making sure you can push changes to production anytime without breaking anything.
• You have a good understanding of system architecture, messaging queues, and different databases.

🎭 Role

• You'll work closely with the Product Manager and the VP of Engineering to build customer-facing products, internal dashboards, tools, and whatever else you think is promising.
• You'll get to help, design, and build our core long-term systems and build a business.
• As an early team member, you'll get a chance to build our engineering culture and design the architecture for our web product.
