Building a safe, efficient and global rental marketplace for anyone looking for or renting out a place.
Our Core Values 💛
We Care. We Perform. We Evolve.
Your Impact 💥
As we have reached the scaleup phase at HousingAnywhere, our rapid growth has brought on new challenges. We are rethinking the platform architecture to meet imminent growth needs. You will have the opportunities to bring in your ideas in the context of microservices, stream processing, API, security and data integrity.
At platform we are shaping the vision for the future architecture of HousingAnywhere. You will help other teams to build new features on top of our architecture, and make sure that concerns like reliability, security, privacy and performances are met.
We are pragmatic developers, and often we need to think out of the box to solve tricky technical challenges. Technology hypes inspire our work and give us ideas, but we realize that the context in which we build our solutions is what matters most. You will help us consider the challenges we face when adopting new technologies or techniques.
You will help your colleagues and your leaders to solve problems and move faster, as well as they will do with you.
Our mission as the platform team
As a Software Engineer for the Platform Team, you will be joining the team responsible for the backend logic of HousingAnywhere’s marketplace, and for standardizing the way our partners integrate with our platform.
Our team is here to provide HousingAnywhere with a scalable composable architecture that allows the organization to scale the business and teams on top of it.
We achieve our goals by:
developing the technical vision and standards on the platform that accommodate the needs of the housing rental market for the next 10 years
developing the standards for the exchange of information between systems in the accommodation rental market.
Let's work together on the following
We are currently refactoring the monolith in context boundaries using Domain Driven Design techniques. Our goal is to come to an architecture that will allow us to break the monolith in microservices and break dependencies with the database.
We are working on bootstrapping our journey to let partners integrate with our platform. We are defining and implementing the architecture that can integrate seamlessly the variegated technologies the industry uses.
We are rethinking our approach to CI, and simplifying our suites of tests.
We already extracted frontend as a service from the backend monolith, but the code still leaves in one repository. We want to gain independence by extracting backend code from frontend code and have separate deployment pipelines.
We are working closely with the operations team to move our services to kubernetes. We are currently sending a small percentage of traffic to the cluster and are facing some performance issues. We are investigating possible next moves to fully work on the cluster.
We are creating an internal RFC to plan how to move towards an event driven architecture by introducing Kafka. We are researching impacts, costs and value that we get by getting into such a path.
And our stack?
Go
Postgres
Redis

Docker
Kubernetes

Job Description
As a developer at GrowSumo on the Core Product team, you will work alongside other skilled developers, product leads, front-end developers, and success engineers to craft high-performance and highly operable web services that scale to support our rapidly growing user base.
You will empower GrowSumo's mission of building the sales force of the future, building trust with our clients, partners, and colleagues as a team leader and mentor to junior developers.
What we do:
The GrowSumo Core team builds the foundational product that connects some of the fastest growing companies in the world to a global marketplace of distributors. Our clients send us over 25 million transaction and integration requests every year so that we can properly attribute and reward their partners for driving key business metrics.
We believe that teammates have each others backs - we build for operability and stand behind the services we write.
We build backend services and applications mostly in Python and golang, running in Docker containers.
Supporting each others success is one of our highest priorities.
We believe in equipping our team with the best tools for the job.
We use our creativity and imagination to handle high data volumes and velocity.
We deploy our code multiple times per day.
We are passionate about growth of the team, as well as the individual.
Were proud of the code we write, but were not dogmatic about methodologies or techniques. We believe building the "right thing" is more important than building things "right", as long as we build it better each time we touch it.
Who we are looking for:
You have a strong learning reflex and you see challenges as a chance to grow.
You want to see customers getting value out of the software you wrote to solve their problems.
You are happy to help other developers learn from you, and you hope they challenge you to learn new things as well.
You're proud of the code you write, but you're also pragmatic about design vs iteration: you know when it is time to refactor, and when it's time to ship.
You're focused, driven and can get challenging projects across the finish line but you know that sometimes it's okay for deep work to take its time.
You have experience operating services in production and take software quality practices personally.
You write meaningful tests and understand the value of observability and operability and what they mean in different contexts.
Requirements
You have 2+ years building web applications on a team
An ability to quickly learn new languages, or an existing familiarity with Python, Vue.js, Angular1.x, Golang, or similar languages.
Write readable, robust and reusable code
Work well on a growing team, communicating clearly and often.
You have an interest in constantly learning how the team can build better, more scalable, and more sustainable solutions.
We want to get to know you, so please share any of your side projects, open source contributions, community involvement or volunteer experience. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Golang Engineer Hunter Remote (Europe, United States, Asia) $110,000 to $150,000 a year
August 2022
2 Applicants This Week
More Than 6 Months Old
Job Description
Hunter's product team is hiring a Backend Go developer! You'll become one of the key team members responsible for moving the data side of the Hunter application forward.
We’re a bootstrapped and sustainable product-focused company. We’ve set up a great work environment for our team, focusing on autonomy and growth. We take full advantage of the fact we’re entirely remote by focusing primarily on async communication and limiting the number of video meetings. Everyone in the team participates in discussions shaping the future of the product.
We love working as a small team and don't hire frequently. So this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team. You'll be part of the product team alongside Bastien (head of engineering), Bernardo (Backend Go developer), Mark (Ruby on Rails developer), Chris (Designer), François, and Antoine (co-founders).
About the role
At Hunter, we've been working from the start with one Go application (managing all our data) and one Ruby on Rails application (responding to users' requests). This setup has allowed us to be highly productive while our team stays small. We believe in always finding the most elegant way to build our product, and Go has been the ideal language to crawl, parse, and organize billions of public web pages.
As part of a small group within a young company, you will work on various projects over time, but you can expect that:
You'll work on our main Go codebase that gathers, processes, and provides all the data of hunter.io.
Within a few weeks, you'll become responsible for significant projects that will improve Hunter by building new critical features in our existing services. Over time, you'll help expand our product line.
You'll work with the rest of the product team to gradually increase the importance of NLP in our data pipelines.
You'll get a high level of autonomy in your work and help shape future development efforts.
You'll gather feedback from our Support team to find issues in our current system and improve it.
Hunter is a fully remote team, and this is a remote job. It is open to anyone located in Europe.
About you
You have multiple years of experience working with Backend Development. Ideally, you have experience in Go. If you don’t, you should be confident in your ability to pick up this new skill quickly.
You enjoy dealing with complex problems and finding elegant solutions.
You're confident you can have a high level of autonomy and enjoy making decisions for yourself.
You're excited to take ownership of projects, set directions, and make calls. You're able to communicate clearly with your colleagues.
You have experience in remote working. You're comfortable working primarily with asynchronous communication and don't need a lot of handholding or supervision.
About us
Salespeople, marketers, and recruiters use Hunter to reach out to the people that matter for their business. We index B2B data from millions of public web pages and make it convenient to explore with simple but powerful tools.
Hunter is the most popular solution to find professional email addresses. It is used by almost 3 million people and leading companies such as Google, Adobe, Microsoft, or IBM.
Hunter was founded in 2015 and is a self-funded company. We're a team of 11 peopleworking remotely from Europe, America, and Asia. Twice a year, the team meets in a company retreat in Europe.

FullStack Engineer FuzzBuzz San Francisco, United States $110,000 to $140,000 a year
May 2020
1 Applicants This Week
More Than 6 Months Old
Job Description
About Fuzzbuzz
We're Fuzzbuzz and we're building a fuzzing as a service platform that integrates into CI systems and the modern software testing workflow. Fuzzing is a type of automated testing that generates and runs thousands of inputs per second on your code to try and find bugs and vulnerabilities. It uses code coverage and other signals from your code to guide the tests it generates and runs. You can read more here.
Last year, we raised a $2.7M seed round from some of the best tech investors & founders, namely Y Combinator, Fuel Capital, Solomon Hykes (Docker founder), Flo Leibert (Mesosphere founder), Spencer Kimball (CockroachDB founder), Michael Stoppelman (Yelp ex-CTO).
About the Team
We're currently a team of 5 people and prefer staying small - allowing us to iterate faster and get very comfortable working with each other (the 3 founders have been roommates since first year university). That means you'll be 16% of the team - all of the work you do will be extremely critical and immediately impact users. We pride ourselves in being a very humble, but capable team - the 2 founding engineers each have 20+ years of engineering experience.
Since we are really small, we prefer having everyone working at the same location. We’re at 541 Jefferson Ave in Redwood City, CA - 10 mins from the Caltrain (everyone's currently WFH because of COVID-19. We will resume working from the office when it is safe).
Why Fuzzbuzz?
1. Define the DevOps and security standards of tomorrow
Fuzzing is seeing more widespread usage than ever before, but there is still work to be done before it sees mass adoption. We're uniquely positioned to bring fuzzing to the developer community and make software testing more effective than ever before.
2. Product-first culture with an emphasis on engineering
Working on a technical product means working with very technical people. We embrace technical challenges and take them head-on. We use tools/frameworks because they get the job done, not because they're the current flavor of the month.
3. Early stage, funded startup
By joining Fuzzbuzz at this critical early stage, as one of our first team members, you'll be shaping not only our product, but our company & engineering culture as well. We're well funded, and pay in the top 10% of companies in SF at our stage.
What You'll Be Doing
Design, architect and build the Fuzzbuzz platform (frontend & API)
Work with our designer to build a beautiful platform with a focus on simplicity
Work with fuzzing team to integrate fuzzing tooling into the platform
Work with founders to define product roadmap
Define internal engineering standards, tooling and processes
Work and iterate closely with users
What We're Looking For
2+ years experience as a full stack software engineer
Solid understanding of Typescript
Experience building complex SPAs in Angular or React (using TS)
Experience with or willingness to learn Go
Experience designing and building APIs
Experience working with AWS
Familiar with Linux
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
Obsession with users and providing real value to customers rather than working with “cool tech”
Ability to navigate & take ownership of complex problems from design through to final implementation
Benefits
Full health, dental & vision insurance
Caltrain & Parking covered
Unlimited, guilt-free PTO
Flexible hours
Ergonomic workstation (standing desk, Herman Miller chairs, custom monitor/laptop set up)

We're a passionate and diverse team of amazing humans who value and respect each other. We're spread between our HQ in Amsterdam and the countries our remote folks work from. We're growing fast! In 2017 and 2018 we've been doubling our business year-over-year, and we've been helping one million customers in 2019 alone.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. If you are looking to join us remotely, we'll need you to be located within UTC-4 to UTC+6 to reasonably overlap with your team members.
At our core, we build highly performant, scalable and reliable services and components. We work with modern technologies such as Go and Elixir - and, as we embrace the DevOps culture, our infrastructure-as-code in the cloud (AWS) is managed and run using tools like Docker, Jenkins, and Terraform. You will be a part of a squad of bright engineers with a passion for delivering great software, as well as team members from a broader range of disciplines - data analysts and scientists, product owners, UX experts, and marketing specialists.
What you will actually be doing / responsibilities
Work in a team to solve challenging problems, integrating accommodation providers and building blazing-fast services that serve their data
Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvements in terms of performance and code quality
Help improving our infrastructure and scale it to support our continuous growth in a cost-effective way
Support the growth of junior and intermediate engineers by coaching them in their daily tasks, as well as raising the bar of how things are done within both your team and the bigger engineering group
What can you expect at the beginning of this experience?
In your first week, you will get acquainted to the squads, its codebase and the tooling, with the goal of shipping something to production and build confidence early on;
In your first month, you will get to know more people from the other squads and disciplines, in order to understand the foundation of the business and the various bits it is made of;
One quarter in, you will be effectively an active member of your squad and your teammates will fully count on you; you will have built meaningful relationships within the company and be comfortable discussing ideas, inside and outside of your squad's scope; ideally, you will have presented a topic you are fond of in one of our internal knowledge sharing sessions and/or demoed some work the team did during our weekly all-hands meeting
Typical day activities
Team sessions (with your fellow engineers and PO) to check data and brainstorm ways to improve several services performance and design scalable solutions
Solve open issues that affect component infrastructure reliability
Propose and discuss with fellow engineers efficient solutions for components and architectural design.
Requirements: Who we're looking for
You are used to work and think outside of the box, and not afraid to present unconventional ideas and solutions.
You have at least 6 years experience in back-end development using a modern set up and tooling
You have a great understanding of APIs, databases, data structures, queues, and all things back-end, with a strong passion for automation
You have worked on a production system that was exposed to significant scale (whether traffic or amount of data) and you are excited by these kinds of challenges
You have a sense of pragmatism, constantly finding the right balance between achieving technical excellence and delivering value to the end users
You are flexible, curious, and data-guided in helping us decide what to work on next
You engage with your team and all the engineering group actively, sharing knowledge and best practices in order to improve with them every day
You have production experience working with AWS and you have taken care of CI / deployments / infrastructure in the past
Production experience with Golang or Elixir is a big plus
Experience with Terraform is a nice to have
What we offer:
Challenging problems and tech to work on.
Growth opportunities within the team and cross-functionally.
An amazing team of curious and diverse personalities, with a passion for learning (everyone has access to an annual learning budget to attend conferences or courses).
A growing Remote culture where you have a chance to deeply influence the way we work with each other.
A competitive compensation package and Stock Appreciation Rights.
Flexible time off (take as many holidays as you need) and a chance to work remotely - we measure results, not time spent at keyboard.
Annual company retreat in some great location - check out our Mallorca trip in 2019
Regular trips to Amsterdam's HQ for remotes (depending on team priorities, 1-4 times a year)
Veganbase is making it easy to launch vegan businesses. We build technologies that empower ethical brands, shops, restaurants and conscious consumers.
Veganism and plant based products are the fastest growing trend on the market, hundreds of new plant based products are launched every few months, as well as services.

Job Description
Always be kind: a simple daily affirmation and one that feels more like a personal mission statement than a corporate motto -- but Pivotal isn’t just any corporation. Underpinning our world-class capabilities in cloud-native software delivery and agile development methodologies is one common thread: empathy. Not only do we want to transform the way the world builds software, we also want to make sure that sustainable pace, kindness, and diversity are at the core of every enterprise.
Known for taking an iterative approach, our 2000+ employees are empowered every day to help shape the way we build software. Pivotal is committed to open source, a diverse culture, and fostering safe spaces for all of our individual employees.
*You*
You are looking for a collaborative environment building distributed systems that enable enterprises to focus on their business rather than re-architecting a cloud platform from scratch. Pair programming has always been something that you wanted to try out.
Furthering your education has always been a goal of yours. Learning new programming languages and getting to work with Golang piques your interest.
Contributing to open source software makes you feel good about the transparency it brings to an organization's code quality.
*Us*
Agile concepts are at the core of our process. We have a whole host of Pivotal Practices around Test Driven Development, pair programming, team retrospectives, technical retrospectives and continuous integration. We are excited to teach these to you and innovate with you on their implementation.
We stick to a strict 8 hour a day schedule (with flexible start and end times). Although on-call rotations are part of most teams, incidents are exceedingly rare.
We pair in small teams of 4 - 8 people in our London office, conveniently located at Old Street. We use Slack to stay connected and Tmux for pairing. We are working hard to make sure that our distributed teams function as smoothly as our distributed systems.
You'll rarely be alone when developing; from pairing all day to 1 on 1 time with your manager, there is always a Pivot there to lend a helping hand. Mentorship from senior engineering leadership is built right into our process - you’ll always be empowered.
Making an investment in each Pivot’s professional development improves the organization as a whole. We encourage you to go to conferences or purchase those pricey O'Reilly books - and we’ll give you a budget each year to do it.
*Your Day*
As cliche as it may sound, every day is completely different from the next. We have a general framework for what our day looks like and the majority of it will be spent with your pair:
9:06 AM - Office-wide stand-up to build office cohesion and start the day off together.
9:10 AM - Team standup - discuss any blockers, choose pairs, maybe even tell a joke.
9:30-12:30 PM - Start pairing, tackle an open GitHub issue and open a pull-request.
12:30-1:30 PM - Lunch! Grab food from one of the many nearby restaurants, run an errand, or join a book club.
1:31-6:00 PM - Get back with your pair and start an acceptance test for a big feature.
While that schedule does look busy, don’t worry - we take ample breaks throughout the day. Take a walk to get boba, read a book on the balcony, play a game of ping pong, or chat with co-workers at the snack bar. Sustainable pace is held in high regard. We know there is a life outside of work, we want you to be able to spend time with family and friends.
*Desired Skills / Experience*
We know from experience that not ticking every box on the skills sections stops many from applying. You should apply regardless of your self-assessment because we want to hear from you.
Ability to dive into a large polyglot codebase and contribute as you learn
Being okay with the uncomfortable feeling that comes from learning new things
Interest in exploring new programming paradigms, languages, and patterns
Demonstrable ability to research problems and break them into discrete parts
*Nice to Haves*
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
Operations or Systems Administration experience, particularly on UNIX
Worked with large Go/Ruby/Rails codebases
Used Test Driven Development (TDD) extensively
Worked in a pair programming environment
Contributed to an open source project
On-call experience with production grade systems
Has mentored others in a professional setting
Cloud Foundry engineers participate in an on-call rotation with their team to support software they work on.
