What you bring
You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a comparable education.
Experience crafting and implementing RESTful micro-services or GraphQL
Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands on experience with public OR private cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
You are familiar with microservices based architecture patterns
Experience in taking ownership of features, with a team on short and long-running projects
Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g., XP, scrum)
You think like an entrepreneur - you understand our business goals and how your daily decisions influence them.

You'll be joining the team developing the web marketplace backend. We create the business logic both for the customer-facing frontend and for the "back-office" of the product. We work on all layers of the system from the database models to public APIs. An intrinsic part of your responsibilities would be helping us to make the right decisions since we strongly believe in team collaborative expertise, and eventually realizing and orchestrating these decisions throughout the complete product funnel.
Who are you
You are a seasoned backend engineer with at least 3 years of experience in software development (internships excluded), preferably confident with Python stack.
You have a startup mentality and have already worked in a startup-like environment before. You are able to work in a fast-paced mode using the iterative approach towards product development.
You like to look out of the box and to learn latest trends and best practices also outside of backend area in order to broaden your horizons and provide a better understanding of the engineering ecosystem.
You feel comfortable interacting with colleagues from other teams on a daily basis.
Languages: English (fluent), German (a plus)

We are looking for an experienced Kubernetes Engineer to lead the development of our Kubernetes Operator. Our goal is to make working with data easy. And because we want to make it simpler for others, we have to work on solving complex problems like the simple deployment of ArangoDB in cluster environments. As a part of our dynamic team you will work on various components that integrate deeply into Kubernetes that make running stateful and resilient databases as easy as possible for our customers.

About the Role
You build and improve our Kubernetes operator to run and deploy our ArangoDB database
Work closely with Customer Care to provide technical support and integrate client feedback into the product lifecycle
You help produce user guides and documentation in cooperation with Marketing
Help the open source community and our clients with best practice
You help with the design, development and maintenance of our tools around ArangoDB that are written in Golang
Kubernetes is your thing and you feel at home in the Open Source world surrounding it
You have hands-on experience developing for and working with large scale distributed systems
Besides Kubernetes you have more than heard of Mesos (DC/OS), Docker (Swarm), Cloud Foundry
Development experience with more than one programming language, including Go
