About Strings
Our mission is to elevate the craft of content designers and UX writers so they can do what they do best: help organizations build better products through content. Our goal is to give writers direct ownership and control of their work, reduce dependencies, and minimize developers' time managing copy.
About You
We are looking for our first full-time backend engineer to join us on our mission. You'll have ownership in building new products and features while working with our founding team.
Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience building event driven micro-services or service oriented architectures and has built most facets, if not all, in a "twelve-factor" app. Preference is for real experience (2+ years) in our primary language of Golang, but other languages are considered when able to quickly pick up new technologies. Additional experience in schema design, relational databases, search engines, cloud services (AWS, GCP, etc), message systems, and API design are considered.
You will directly influence how and what to build, and must be comfortable collaborating on the architecture, code, product, etc as we have a strong culture of devops as well as being technically curious, thoughtful and purposeful in what we build. We value deploying frequently with well-written, maintainable, instrumented and tested code to a kubernetes cluster.

What we need
We’re looking for a dedicated, passionate, innovative, and security-oriented Backend Web Developer to work on bringing PowerSpike’s databases and API’s to life.
Reporting directly to the VP of Development, you will be responsible for building bug-free data solutions which will deliver information to influencers, brands and advertisers to help them make critical marketing decisions for their spends. TreeCard is building the leading green finance brand. We’re powered by Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees with 15M monthly active users.
Our first product, TreeCard, is a free top-up debit card that puts 80% of profits directly towards responsible reforestation investments. Lead Backend Engineer
We are looking for an engineer to help us build out the backend that powers TreeCard.
You will be responsible for developing the backend platform from scratch, spanning a range of the tech stack, from integrating with our banking partners, to API architecture and design for our mobile client, to the execution of new microservices that the business will depend on like risk management, fraud detection, and big data analytics.
You will be delivering a product that will become a core part of our customer’s financial lives, and used daily by hundreds of thousands of these customers. The other is dedicated to providing value for Outside Sales Reps, who typically find themselves on the road reaching out to prospects in person. As a member of either pod, you'll build backend systems in innovative and scalable ways with the end-user in mind, ultimately it's your choice which pod you'd like to join.
Our team codes in Python, JavaScript (using the Vue framework), and Go, with modern scalable document- and key-based data stores behind them. We prefer excellence to expediency. Backed by our microservice architecture, we want the best tool not the most convenient. If there’s a compelling case to write something in Clojure, we can and will do it. With strong foundations, specific knowledge of these tools is not required. As an early member of our growing engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to weigh in on design and architectural solutions that shape the company's future.
