Go programming experience is preferred, but if you have deep experience in other languages and are excited about learning Go, we can make that work too.
Extensive experience with web development (HTML, CSS, plain JS) and a solid understanding of the HTTP protocol and the web browser security model.
PostgreSQL database experience, but other SQL database experience is also applicable.
A solid understanding of standard development tools and processes, including Git and issue-management systems.
Confidence working with Linux instances for deployment and diagnostics.

We seek a Senior Software Engineer to work in a team of 4 highly skilled software engineers consisting of front-end, back-end and DevOps professionals. Backed by our microservice architecture, we want the best tool not the most convenient. If thereâs a compelling case to write something in Clojure, we can and will do it. With strong foundations, specific knowledge of these tools is not required. Weâre looking for a Backend Engineer to join our TechOps squad at Monzo.
Our TechOps squad is primarily responsible for making sure everyone at Monzo has all of the tools they need to do a great job. That means managing all of our devices (predominantly running Mac and Chrome OS), managing our G-Suite domains, providing 1:1 support to Monzonauts across the business, and much much more.
A big contributor to the success TechOps have had to date is the way weâve embedded engineers in the squad, meaning weâve been able to automate away a lot of the manual work traditionally associated with a TechOps squad.
This has allowed us to move quickly, achieve an incredible ratio of TechOps people to total employees, and reap the benefits of being able to hire people all across the world without friction.
