Job Description
Okta's Developer Experience team is looking for an experienced engineer with a love for the Go language, and a desire to work on open source SDKs that will delight our developer community. In this role you will have influence over our Go community strategy, which has a large base of developers working in the Dev Ops arena. Developers building on Okta want tools, written in Go, to facilitate their roll out of applications that leverage Okta as the underlying identity platform.
We currently offer a Go Management SDK, and a Terraform provider. In this role you will have ownership over these SDKs, as well as future SDKs that we create.
Okta's identity platform allows developers at companies of all sizes to integrate modern authentication features and workflows into their own applications. The Developer Experience team is responsible for sharing the love with those developers by identifying common use cases and creating tools and SDKs that make their lives easier, while helping them understand our product and the protocols that we support.
In this role you will be working on the leading edge of our Open Source Software (OSS) program and will gain invaluable experience with library design and development, as well as interacting with a community of engaged developers who use your work on a daily basis. Your code will see production scale usage at many companies, being embedded directly into applications and services that enable internet scale applications with large numbers of end users. This role provides the opportunity to design right, code right, and test right, and deepen your knowledge of the Go ecosystem.
We are a polyglot team and while we are looking for a lover of Go, we also value a generalist mindset and co-learning across stacks. We work closely as a team to design solutions that work across languages and environments.
Design and build software development kits (SDKs), written in Go, for developers using the Okta APIs within their web applications and CI/CD workflows.
Interact with developers through GitHub on our open-source repositories, responding to issues and reviewing pull requests
Participate in software design and code review for all libraries that the team creates
Implement holistic testing strategies to assert we're delivering a good developer experience, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Write documentation and how-to content for the libraries that you create
Minimum Skills:
4+ years working as a full-stack web developer (you've written production code, been exposed to backend and frontend problems, have experience deploying your applications, and can empathize with developers across the stack.)
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Go language
Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
Experience working with a product-oriented, agile culture
Bonus Skills:
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform
Expertise in other languages, such as Java and Python
Experience interacting with other developers on GitHub (e.g. opening issues, contributing to issues, contributing pull requests)
Experience building libraries or tools that are used by other developers, either internally within your company or externally on pubic repositories
Golang Developer ActiveState Vancouver, BC, Canada / Remote $40,000 to $100,000 a year
June 2019
1 Applicants This Week
More Than 6 Months Old
This job posting is no longer available
Job Description
Are you a Golang developer thatâs passionate about developer tooling? ActiveState is looking for developers to level up their end-user tooling team. This team is mainly responsible for âthe State Toolâ, a new command line tool weâre developing that allows you to quickly jump-start runtime environments for your projects. Backed by ActiveStateâs new platform weâll be able to provide developer tooling unlike any youâve seen before.
If you know Python, Perl, or Tcl you've probably heard of ActiveState's language distros. Now weâre building an ambitious language distribution platform and set of tools so that coders can focus on coding and spend less time worrying about dependency hell, third party vulnerabilities, and inconsistent developer environments. Â Weâre doing this for every language and platform on the planet (and beyond). We need your help to do it! Best of all youâll be working on a product that youâll use yourself daily.
This position is based out of our headquarters in beautiful Vancouver, BC. Remote work will be considered, but only for candidates in North America.
WHAT YOUâLL BE DOING
Your job is to help us build the tools that take the pain out of developing code in teams. Our lofty goal is to replace the venerable README file with a single command. Youâll work on command line clients, editor tooling, and more. While a primary amount of your job will be described as back-end work you must be comfortable with a little front-end work as well.
When not working on code, youâll be meeting with your team to figure out priorities, features, technical issues, etc. Youâre someone with good technical knowledge who also has an interest in the end-product youâll be building.
Our day to day work practices are centered around GitHub, pull requests, code review, CI for testing, and agile development with Pivotal Tracker as our project management tool. Weâre always looking to improve our practices and we expect you to help us to do so.
Weâre a polyglot company and embrace using the best language for the given task at hand. Youâll regularly find Golang, Elm, Javascript, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, DCOS, CircleCI, and other modern tools. Quality is as important as speed. Weâre building for the long run, so youâll need to be proficient in writing tests and documentation too.
Our back ends and command line tools for interacting with our Platform are written in Go. While certain extended components of the platform that you might interact with from time to time are written in Elm and Python. Weâre also aiming to get a foothold in TypeScript for future editor plugin work.
The team is scattered around the US and Canada, so we coordinate with each other and the rest of the company using Slack for chat, Highfive for video calls and screen sharing, Pivotal Tracker, and the Google Suite.
We like to use open source software whenever possible, and we also like to contribute back to the open source ecosystem. We embrace open sourcing both libraries and tools developed in-house as long as those are not mission-critical code.
WHATâS IN IT FOR YOU
Working for a stable and growing company that offers the environment and personal growth potential of a start-up.
The chance to work with a smart, passionate team of people.
The chance to work on a project that will change the work lives of developers around the world, including your own!
Competitive salary, bonus, and stock option plan.
Comprehensive benefits package and health/wellness credit program.
REQUIREMENTSÂ
Experience with Go.
The ability to quickly pick up new languages and technologies.
Experience with relational database (mysql, postgres, ..).
Basic knowledge of JavaScript and front end development.
Experience with all 3 major platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows).
The ability to write clean, well-tested code with clear documentation.
Excellent written and spoken skills, both technical and non-technical..
A willingness to engage in the process of defining our work through conversations with product management, other engineering teams, and the rest of the company.
The ability to help others on the team become better at their jobs through mentoring, thoughtful code reviews, and generally being a team player.
ASSETS
If you have experience with any of the following please make sure to highlight it in your cover letter:
TypeScript experience.
Javascript tooling such as Webpack and frameworks such as React and Redux.
Elm experience, especially large Single Page Apps.
Microservices and message queues.
Good working knowledge of Docker.
Experience building both web based and desktop based software.
Docker, Mesos, DCOS, Kubernetes.
Functional programming languages.
Experience Creating parsers, compilers or code intelligence systems
Deep understanding Process management on Windows or Unix environments
Work with reactive, event based systems
Low level architecture (sockets, primitive data types like in C) and the ability to interface and interact with low level libraries (e.g. debuggers).

Backend Go Developer Hunter Remote (Europe) $80,000 to $130,000 a year
June 2022
3 Applicants This Week
More Than 6 Months Old
Job Description
Hunter's product team is hiring a Backend Go developer! You'll become one of the key team members responsible for moving the data side of the Hunter application forward.
We love working as a small team and don't hire frequently. So this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the team. You'll be part of the product team alongside Bastien (head of engineering), Bernardo (Backend Go developer), Mark (Ruby on Rails developer), Chris (Designer), François, and Antoine (co-founders).
Weâve set up a great work environment for our team, focusing on autonomy and growth. We take full advantage of the fact weâre entirely remote by focusing primarily on async communication and limiting the number of video meetings. Finally, youâll get to participate in discussions shaping the future of the product.
About the role
At Hunter, we've been working from the start with one Go application (managing all our data) and one Ruby on Rails application (responding to users' requests). This setup has allowed us to be highly productive while our team stays small. We believe in always finding the most elegant way to build our product, and Go has been the ideal language to crawl, parse, and organize billions of public web pages.
As part of a small group within a young company, you will work on various projects over time, but you can expect that:
You'll work on our main Go codebase that gathers, processes, and provides all the data of hunter.io.
Within a few weeks, you'll become responsible for significant projects that will improve Hunter by building new critical features in our existing services. Over time, you'll help expand our product line.
You'll work with the rest of the product team to gradually increase the importance of NLP in our data pipelines.
You'll get a high level of autonomy in your work and help shape future development efforts.
You'll gather feedback from our Support team to find issues in our current system and improve it.
Hunter is a fully remote team, and this is a remote job. It is open to anyone located in Europe.
About you
You have multiple years of experience working with Backend Development. Ideally, you have experience in Go.
You enjoy dealing with complex problems and finding elegant solutions.
You're confident you can have a high level of autonomy and enjoy making decisions for yourself.
You're excited to take ownership of projects, set directions, and make calls. You're able to communicate clearly with your colleagues.
You have experience in remote working. You're comfortable working primarily with asynchronous communication and don't need a lot of handholding or supervision.
About us
Salespeople, marketers, and recruiters use Hunter to reach out to the people that matter for their business. We index B2B data from millions of public web pages and make it convenient to explore with simple but powerful tools.
Hunter is the most popular solution to find professional email addresses. It is used by almost 3 million people and leading companies such as Google, Adobe, Microsoft, or IBM.
Hunter was founded in 2015 and is a self-funded company. We're a team of 11 peopleworking remotely from Europe, America, and Asia. Twice a year, the team meets in a company retreat in Europe.

Job Description
Stuart (DPD Group) is a sustainable đ± last-mile logistics company that connects retailers and e-merchants to a fleet of geolocalised couriers across several countries in Europe.
Our Mission đ
We are an impact-driven company that aims to build the future of logistics for a more sustainable world: shared, efficient and reliable. We are committed to creating a new standard for urban deliveries that meet todayâs environmental and social challenges while offering a premium delivery experience blending speed, flexibility and convenience.
Our motto: âMake every delivery a moment all of us can truly celebrate!â More than 3000+ leading brands already partner with us across Restaurants, Grocery, Retail & Luxury, eCommerce and Professional Services to deliver all types of goods at the tap of a button. Stuart is a highly diverse and inclusive company of 700+ employees with 90+ nationalities working across France đ«đ·, Italy đźđč, Poland đ”đ±, Portugal đ”đč, Spain đȘđž and the U.K. đŹđ§
Itâs the right moment and the right place for us to make an impact on millions of people, as home delivery services hit a record high. And guess what? You can help us fulfil our vision đ
Letâs talk about Software Engineering đ
We are looking for a Platform Engineer đ€ to work in our new developer experience department in the deployment team.
We want to build an amazing Internal Developer Platform. In order to achieve that goal, we want to give time and space to a group of people that are very passionate about how an elite software development team works and wants to help to optimize our teamâs workflow.
We want all teams to be able to self-service their needs without the need to put a ticket on any board when they need something.
We want to treat our developer platform as a product. We want to iterate it step by step making the lives of the rest of the developers in the company easier so they can focus on the business needs.
This team will be a mix of putting together existing open source solutions and building our own. We use things like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, or Crossplane to set the foundations for the rest of our teams.
You will decide how our services will be configured and, following the âautomate all the thingsâ mantra, we expect you to automate these decisions so that they are easy to follow by the rest of the engineering team.
If we had to play the buzzword bingo weâd say:
- Solid knowledge of a programming language. It would be great if it was Go
- Microservices: Orchestration, build pipelines, test pipelines
- Kubernetes and tools to create abstractions on top of it. KuveVela, Crossplane
- ArgoCD
In this team you will become an expert in these technologies and you will be able to provide abstractions so that the rest of the engineering team does not have to.
You will be assigned to an onboarding buddy who will help you make yourself at home at Stuart. You will start meeting people from all departments to learn more about what we do and start to understand the general principles that are driving our architecture.
You should get in touch with how we are deploying our software today and where we want to go in the future. You will be paired with some teammates to start delivering your first code.
In three monthsâŠ
You should start to understand the different processes that happen across our company within the other teams.
You should already be part of the deployment teamâs vision. You should be participating in your teamâs ceremonies. Each team has its own working agreements, as long as they are aligned within the company. Currently, your team is working according to the Kanban philosophy with periodic retrospectives.
In six monthsâŠ
As you begin to understand the department's long term vision you should start participating in some design discussions and even the recruitment of the team.
You should already know some of our engineers so you can engage in discussions with them to find out their pain points in terms of our pipeline building and help them solve them.
What do we need from you? đ
Other than technical skills we are looking for a person that is able to create a good experience for other engineers.
Empathic with other engineersâ pain points.
Able to have a discussion respecting the other person.
Willing to learn new technologies that force you out of your comfort zone. We deploy software built-in many programming languages, using many frameworks and with very heterogeneous requirements, which can sometimes be a challenge.
A good communicator since we will have to design and communicate processes to other engineers.
At Stuart, we believe that employees today want to evolve in collaborative, high-growth environments where they can demonstrate their abilities and thrive both professionally and personally. We are convinced that employees need to find alignment between their inner values and their companyâs culture and mission to unlock their full potential. We work to create a culture of empowerment, continuous learning and growth where everyone can bring expertise, own projects and easily measure their impact đ
Stuart is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to promoting diversity. We donât discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status đ
Please note: Our Talent Acquisition Team is international coming from across the world đ We kindly ask you to please submit your CV and application in English so that it can be reviewed correctly (unless the job posting is in a language other than English). Thank you đ€
Join our team either remotely or in our HQ in Amsterdam. This role can be based in any location within the EMEA region.
