About The Role
Our mission is simple: take our leading product and transform it into a global SaaS product. Working in a small team of developers you'll be evolving our platform and infrastructure by developing microservices, creating tools, building APIs, writing tests, integrating systems and utilising AWS cutting-edge features to enhance the platform experience for a global user base.
You will need to hit the ground running in getting a measure of our platform and service architecture with support from our Product & Engineering teams and solutions architects. You will be working across teams to not only deliver code, but also to take a leading role in the design of services and implementations. Our team codes in Python, JavaScript (using the Vue framework), and Go, with modern scalable document- and key-based data stores behind them. We prefer excellence to expediency. Backed by our microservice architecture, we want the best tool not the most convenient. If there’s a compelling case to write something in Clojure, we can and will do it. With strong foundations, specific knowledge of these tools is not required. As an early member of our growing engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to weigh in on design and architectural solutions that shape the company's future.

The Shop Applications Unit constantly improves the App, Mobile Website and Desktop Website. These big-scale products are each visited by several million people every month. Our highly scalable API updates and delivers our product data for our shop frontends in real-time – in peak times with up to millions of requests per minute! We're Fuzzbuzz and we're building a fuzzing as a service platform that integrates into CI systems and the modern software testing workflow. Fuzzing is a type of automated testing that generates and runs thousands of inputs per second on your code to try and find bugs and vulnerabilities. Monzo works in project-based sprints in small, interdisciplinary teams
We have around 190 engineers out of roughly 1000 people in total - and we have big ambitions.
