This role requires Eastern timezone work hours.

Role

We seek a Senior Software Engineer to work in a team of 4 highly skilled software engineers consisting of front-end, back-end and DevOps professionals. You’ll be responsible for leading a project, developing, testing and delivering reliable software solutions. You’ll use industry best practices, policies and procedures to produce high-quality software products. You’ll be part of the team helping scale our technology as we grow our customer base and 10x the number of wearables in the field in the next 6-9 months.

What You’ll Do

Individual contributor:

You’ll be an individual contributor who has domain expertise in our tech stack and can take ownership of projects. Prior experience with Go is required. Experience with React and AWS is a big plus. You’ll be ensuring all the unit and integration tests are in place for your contributions, and also help peer engineers with that. Collaboration and best practices:

You'll collaborate with Product Management, Design, Data and Hardware teams to create industry leading products and features that will delight our customers. You’ll be deeply involved in RFC and RFP processes to ensure software specifications are agreed upon in advance for the most efficient use of software development time. Tech Stack

About the Role

We're looking for someone with experience architecting, writing, testing and shipping production-quality code in Go, with a background in Ethereum development. You are rigourous and have a refined eye for simple arhitecture and clean code, and you are able to balance tradeoffs inherent in all design decisions.

Kava Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer for the Kava lending platform, Kava's blockchain solution enabling decentralized stable coins, bonds, and lending for crypto users. Sommelier consists of the Cosmos Stargate SDK, its Tendermint-based consensus layer and a decentralized, bi-directional Ethereum bridge, managed by a global network of validators. Liquidity Providers (LPs) will be able to use Sommelier to author and execute complex, automated financial transactions, such as portfolio rebalancing, limit orders, as well as a host of other features that token holders have come to expect from centralized finance (CeFi), but that are not currently available in DeFi.

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to work closely with our product engineering and infrastructure teams. Reporting to the Director of Platform Systems, the Site Reliability Engineer will be performing a mix of hands-on development, coaching, and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to help bring DigitalOcean’s engineering systems and culture up to the next level.

This is a key opportunity to make a significant impact in DigitalOcean’s engineering and operational systems and influence future product designs and requirements. This role is essential to accelerate the improvement of the high expectations our customers have of DigitalOcean as we continue to grow and expand.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Performing hands on technical work to directly improve the reliability, resiliency, and scaling of our key platform systems
• Working with stakeholders to develop and implement reliability and performance metrics
• Facilitate DigitalOcean’s culture of learning by providing insight and recommendations for improvement
• Coaching teams and individuals on reliability best practices and solutions
• Working with other SREs and engineering leaders to define the architectures and practices that should be adopted in order to deliver on our engineering and operational goals
• Establishing best practices for development, architecture, deployment, and operations
• Working with peer SREs to improve services and processes (including architecture reviews, incident response, monitoring) in a cross-functional manner throughout the engineering organization

What We’ll Expect From You:

• Distinguished track record as SRE (or similar role) with hands-on experience implementing reliability, process, and scaling solutions
• History of fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and a track record of successful collaboration and coaching
• Clear communication skills (both written and verbal) to document processes and architectures
• Experience implementing disaster recovery best practices
• Developing robust solutions that facilitate streamlined resolution of customer inquiries through use of technologies for automation, deflection, and issue management
• Adept in Ruby and Go with a broad understanding of the full technology stack for a modern infrastructure
• Advocate of effective development environments with the use of CI/CD tooling and configuration management technologies such as Chef or Ansible

About Weaveworks

Weaveworks was founded in 2014 and we are the company behind popular Kubernetes tools like Flux, Scope, the official CLI for Amazon EKS called EKSCtl and the flagship enterprise product Weave Kubernetes Platform.

Our mission is to help the world’s leading organizations to adopt Kubernetes and other Cloud Native technologies and working practices. Enterprises use our products and services to build better software and operate it reliably, at scale. Our approach brings together container-based application deployment, Kubernetes, and operations tooling in a model we call GitOps.

The role: remote in US timezones

We want to bring an energetic, empathetic and collaborative engineer into our team that enjoys having an impact on product and a focus on delivery.

This needs someone who is happy working as part of an agile team and who wants to contribute to the full software development lifecycle. From initial product feature idea through to backlog refinement, testing, customer feedback, and on-going support.

You will be helping to develop and maintain products and tools which make using cloud-managed and on-premise Kubernetes installations easy.

What you’ll be doing:

• Hands-on development work in Golang

  • Comfortable being on a support rota; it’s reasonable and fairly spread across people.
• Collaborating with the product manager to:
  • clarify and refine issues/requests/features
  • contribute to sprint planning and sharing ideas
• Participating in wider Weaveworks engineering culture (lunch and learns/sprint reviews)

We’re looking for you if you:

• are comfortable being in a fully remote and distributed multifunctional agile team
• have Kubernetes experience, on premise or self managed as part of the public cloud providers
• have significant Golang coding experience preferably within a commercial or product focus
• have a team-first mindset and demonstrate curiosity
• like working in an agile environment and getting things done iteratively to make things better for our users
• enjoy communicating, collaborating, and helping each other out :)
• bring experience in building highly-concurrent, distributed, and highly-scalable systems
• are familiar with or have experience with one or more public cloud providers (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
