YOUR MISSION

As an early software engineer on the engineering team, you'll work in a small team with a large impact. The team is responsible for building and maintaining multi-tenant pipelines and a variety of user-facing APIs which act as the backbone of the architecture. This requires a team that, as a whole, is capable of writing high performance and ultra-reliable code that is processing data from internal and external tools.

Some of the specific things you will do:

• Own the design and implementation of new features or enhance existing features from concept through to production.
• Implement and maintain integrations which allow us to extract data from a variety of external systems to a high production standard
• Investigate and fix issues reported by customers.
• Maintain internal systems to efficiently operate user-facing systems and services.
• Respond to on-call alerts to resolve issues in a way that meets customer expectations.
• Bring up new ideas for the product or architecture and demo them internally.
• We believe in using the best tool for the job.

YOUR PROFILE

• A good understanding of the compute model, including concurrency, data structures, and algorithms.
• Ability to write documented, optimal and reliable code.
• A strong understanding of how distributed systems work and, more importantly, fail.
• A need to own things end-to-end.
• Experience developing large-scale architectures.
• Experience writing code in a modern language and a willingness to learn the languages we use, specifically Golang and Python.
• Understanding of modern cloud infrastructure and technologies, preferably in Azure.
• Experience in event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding and experience with SQL, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding in working and architecting streaming platforms like e.g. Kafka.
• Ability to get out of the comfort zone and explore areas beyond the existing skill set.
• Initiative and motivation to make things happen.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Further development of our high performance backend and frontend
• Accompany the cloud migration with your experience
• Manage our tech stack
• Use automated processes to ensure software quality and ensure repeatable builds
• Ongoing optimization and quality assurance
• Development of our own hybrid cloud solution
• Management of assigned projects

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, …) or comparable long-term experience in the field
• Expert knowledge in at least two backend-focused languages (Python, Go, Java, …) as well as JavaScript (NodeJS, React.JS, Typescript or any other)
• A deep technical understanding of cloud services and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience in SQL/NoSQL databases as well as building automated infrastructures
• Fluency in English (German is a plus)
• Love and passion for the work you do and the code you write

Job Description

Reporting to the CTO, you build and lead up to 4 distributed engineering teams. You start from scratch and lay the foundation for best engineering practices. You ensure a vision and technical strategy catered to our US market together with your Tech Leads.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead a world-class engineering team: You are responsible to build and lead your team. You will go the extra mile to coach and develop the team members on a daily basis.
• Enable the growth of FINN: Together with your cross-functional engineering teams, you ship new features for our cloud platform. Thereby, you actively participate in delivering the best software possible for our customers and business units.
• Strive for excellence: Strive to deliver the best possible user experience and to follow engineering best practices.
• Build it, run it: Build features with a ‘build it, run it’ mindset and be responsible for testing, deploying, and monitoring your code. We believe in Serverless!

Your Profile

• 3+ years of experience in a multi-team lead role, with more than 6 direct reports (30+ indirect reports).
• Proven track record with 5+ years of software engineering experience in larger projects preferably B2B, B2C, or SaaS products.
• Profound knowledge of React, Python, NodeJS or Go.
• Passion for shipping CI/CD.
• You are located in Brazil or +/- 3 hours of Eastern Standard Time (EST).
• Ideally you graduated with a Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
