Day to day, you will…

• Work to support new and existing blockchain networks on our platform. This means dockerizing, YAML templating, and otherwise writing code that facilitates different networks running on our Kubernetes based platform every day
  
• Research complex topics around specific blockchain networks including consensus algorithms, economic models, and node/network topology.
  
• Interact and collaborate with other engineers and team members; we have a highly focused and collaborative team. Our team prioritizes creating a shared understanding of our systems/supported networks, and we are dedicated to supporting each other on a daily basis.
  
• Contribute to blockchain network support discussions. We are looking for a strong technical leader that can help drive and own support for multiple networks.
  
• Participate in the overall blockchain network community. Join third party discussions and become a contributor to the development of new and existing networks.
  
• Build services and infrastructure that help to automate the deployment of blockchain network infrastructure
  
• Incorporate monitoring, alerting, and observability to support blockchain networks that allow us to maintain the highest standards of health, reliability and uptime.

About the Technology team

Engineers join us for the technical challenges we overcome and stay for the incredible culture our Engineers create and grow, from talking at meetups such as the monthly 'London Microservices Meetup' (hosted and set up by our very own Technical Director) to contributing regularly to open source software (we're lucky to have the core contributor to Vue.js in our ranks). We work very closely with Product and Design in cross-functional squads, each of which has the autonomy to practice agile in the way that works best for them. We're also excited to build out a Data Science function here at Attest, focusing on ML and NLP techniques to provide greater insights to our customers and safeguard our high data quality.

Our tech stack utilises some of the latest technologies, such as; gRPC, linkerd2, Postgres and Elasticsearch (to name just a few) all running on Kubernetes. Massdriver is an internal development platform that enables engineering teams to self-serve secure, production-ready infrastructure and services in their own cloud. We are looking for an engineer to lead our Golang team to build out core features and guide the future of our platform.

Platform engineering at Massdriver is different. We dogfood our product and the platform components you design are the components we expose to our customers to design their platform engineering environments. Your work is the product.

This role will own and design platform engineering components and their APIs including our provisioning engine, command-line tools, and our cloud query API. You will have the opportunity to work and contribute to a number of open source tools as well as design custom tooling.

Discern is a compliance operating system. We built Discern to automate entity management by monitoring foreign registration nexus, entity status/standing, automating filing requirements, and acting as a Registered Agent.

We're currently a small team with big aspirations. You will be starting as a founding engineering team member working directly with the VP, Engineering, Principal Engineer, Lead Product Designer and all Co-Founders. We’re a highly collaborative group with extensive experience in both corporate and tech startup environments.

What We're Looking For

At Discern we’re applying the latest React, Go, and Cloud technologies such Remix, Gin, Temporal, sqlc, GKE and Dagger to solve complex business problems. We are seeking a passionate and experienced full stack engineer with a strong background in object oriented design, front and back end engineering and relational database design.

We are particularly interested in engineers who have a passion for and experience with the Go programming language, or at least a strong enthusiasm to learn and gain real world experience using Go.

Your Impact at Discern

• You will work on our front and back and platform technologies to produce working features of the Discern product.
• You will work closely with our Product Owners, our Lead Product Designer and other stakeholders, collaborating to ensure we produce high quality software.
• You will provide input into the technologies, patterns and practices used to produce software at Discern.
• You will work as part of the Discern engineering team, providing input, sharing experiences and mentoring less senior team members.
• You will report directly to our VP of Engineering.

About You

• You have 3-5+ years building software with React and Javascript technologies, ideally with experience using Remix and Tailwind CSS.
• You have 3-5+ years experience in Go, Python, Java or other comparable object oriented server side languages.
• You have extensive experience designing relational database structures and using SQL.
• You are passionate about solving business problems and have significant experience developing enterprise or SaaS business software using the above technologies and tools.
• You are adept at debugging software defects and regression testing to prevent issues from resurfacing.
• You hate doing repetitive work and would prefer to develop tooling and methodology to automate it and allow the team to move faster.
• You are an effective communicator and have experience mentoring junior developers and operating as part of a disparate engineering team.
• You are passionate about code quality and reusable design, and enjoy learning every day.

As a staff engineer on the Data Access team, your work will be crucial to supporting Reddit’s data-driven Sales & Marketing stakeholders through improving this unique internal platform which provides a great source of overall revenue generation for the company.
