About the Role

At App Academy we are constantly innovating on a handful of products and courses. As a new member of our small but mighty team you will build on top of and improve our serverless platform, the business logic that powers our products, and bring new knowledge and expertise to the team.

Responsibilities - You will work on and maintain serverless and cloud Infrastructure (AWS) and our online products/platforms. - You will help out with migration out of legacy platforms (mostly Ruby on Rails). - We are a small company and looking for people who can thrive in a collaborative environment that goes beyond a single team, as a member of our team you will hold meetings and discussions around product features with stakeholders. - Teach and Learn. Job Description

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to form a five-strong Founding Team. Being with us from Day 1 you will participate in defining the architecture and technology stack of our next generation sports betting platform.

Together with your peers you will begin to implement some core services while we continue to grow our team to 10-15 software engineers within the first year. Going forward you will assume full responsibility for parts of our platform and/or processes and lead the respective team.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years software development experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, ideally including Go, Scala or Erlang
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
  • Experience working with two or more from the following: functional programming, concurrent programming, developing large software systems, distributed systems, web application development, massive data storage, data science and/or machine learning
  • Deep understanding of microservice architecture, SQL/NoSQL data stores, containerization, test automation, continuous integration/deployment, cloud computing, security and networking
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English

Remote Work

We decided to go remote-first in order to be able to hire the best talent in Europe. If you decide to join us remotely, as a member of the Founding Team we still require you to be present in Malta for the first few weeks. The Opportunity:

You will own the Live Planet VR Camera software development and configuration. You will design, develop and support applications that control camera behavior, collect information from the camera, update software on camera, etc. Also you will own Live Planet VR Camera CI, testing and embedded OS configuration.

Job Description

Verisart is currently upgrading is is seeking a hands on Senior Golang Engineer who can work with our technical stack as we migrate from a tightly coupled backend and front end to using React/Redux.

The successful candidate will have strong web app and RESTfull API experience and will be able to support our in-house development team and can start immediately. Knowledge of micro services is also helpful.

The role would involve setting up the API framework as well as any authentication (OAuth2.0) and validation middleware. Routes would then need to be implemented and integrated. Role would also involve supporting any extra code requirements of the development team inside the scope of the API project.

The work will be carried out as part of a small team, based in London (Mayfair). Competitive rates offered, as well as flexible working hours although the position is full time and on site and the successful candidate must be available at least 4 days per week at our office in London.

In general Verisart seeks engineers interested in applying cryptography at real world problems. Our problem lies within the art market as we address the problem of proving provenance for artworks and building evidence based certificates of authenticity. We recognize that cryptography is not a magic bullet. We want to use it intelligently to provide evidence where possible for people to interpret, like the web of trust. We’re looking for people who understand how to apply cryptography to problems. While understanding the mathematical backgrounds to cryptography is great, it’s not essential if you understand how the cryptographic primitives like hashing and message signing work together to solve real problems. We value passion and hard work when tackling challenges and above all else although an interest in arts and collectibles is helpful.

Skills & requirements Requirements

Computer science degree or similar (preferred but not necessary). Git. High level experience such as C++, Golang, Rust, Java, Python. Bitcoin experience is an asset.
