Overview
Simprints builds cutting-edge technology for some of the poorest individuals in the world, and in the most challenging environments on earth. We are working at the exciting interface of biometrics, technology, and international development where our product is used to radically increase transparency and effectiveness, making sure that every vaccine, every dollar, every education initiative reaches its intended recipient. Working with mentors from top companies like Google, Microsoft, and ARM, we design and develop both hardware and software by applying modern tools in distinctly un-modern environments with little to no internet connectivity. About ONI
At ONI we empower scientists and clinicians to understand life and disease at the molecular level. We democratise microscopy at 10 nm resolution where individual molecules in single cells become visible. To be useful, technology must be easy to use, so we automate every step of the workflow through microfluidics, AI and data analysis on the cloud. ONI is looking for back-end software engineers and developers to join our fast moving software team. We use Go and Python to manage complex datasets and schedule dynamic tasks, orchestrated by Kubernetes and interfacing with the front-end over REST and gRPC.
You will be developing reliable and scalable APIs to serve our data-rich microscopy platform, helping scientists in all corners of the world access cutting-edge research. Fraugster is a payment security company with the goal of eliminating fraud and increasing our customers’ profits. Development at Fraugster:
Our stack uses Go exclusively for back-end APIs. Functionality is spread across multiple services which communicate via gRPC. Relational data is stored in Postgres and other types of data are held in other non-relational data-stores such as etcd and Kafka. All services are containerized and deployed to kubernetes. Our frontend client is implemented in Angular 7 (Typescript).
Our development process is lightweight Scrum with 2 week iterations. Code is contributed to projects via merge/pull requests which are peer reviewed by colleagues. Code is continuously integrated, tested and checked with automated CI pipelines.

As a CancerIQ Software Engineer, you will to take part in an agile engineering process. What are we looking for?
You should have several years of experience and completed many projects that have enabled you to develop strong opinions on code structure and modularization. With the rapid movement in the web landscape, you shouldn’t be afraid to dive into new technologies and learn from top to bottom. We use a mixture of technologies, and focus on those that help us get jobs done most efficiently. Knowledge of Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, Backbone, and the like, should be something you can bring. You should have an expert-level understanding of Javascript (e.g. prototype-based inheritance, event delegation, closures, callbacks). You need thorough knowledge of the newer frameworks, and the progression of web technologies such as ES6/7, Typescript, etc.
You should have deep knowledge of the surrounding parts of the stack with the capability of designing RESTful APIs and backend services. As we scale to reach many patients and institutions, you’d make implementation decisions around scalability, performance, and web page optimization techniques. The desire to learn and help others are two core values that drive us as a development team. We believe that if you aren’t passionate about these values, then we’re not your best fit. You should be passionate about always learning and growing, as well as spreading new knowledge to just as passionate team members.
