Job Description

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). As an SRE, you will be tasked with the reliability and operation of our production environments. SREs are tasked with ensuring teams within the company receive help maintaining software at scale, as well as help designing and developing software for scale. SREs are expected to engage with the product teams to ensure the delivery of our software is as seamless as possible.

These position is based out of our Washington D.C. or Chicago Illinois office locations. An active clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance will be required.

We look for a track record of the following:

  • Coming alongside high energy engineering teams to enable the adoption of best practices to enable the scalability and reliability of deployed software,
  • Defined architecture and built services at scale on public infrastructure such as AWS and Azure,
  • Experience designing, implementing, deploying, and operating high scale production services,
  • Experience facilitating the definition and implementation of SLIs and SLOs,
  • Understanding how to carefully spend error budget to handle regular deployment of large changes to production,
  • Deep experience in Linux operating systems, and systems engineering,
  • Comfort delivering critical software in Go and Python,
  • Willingness to debug problems across the stack,
  • Comfortability with working on underspecified problems and are capable of rapidly learning and iterating on solutions,
  • Experience building the wrong system enough times to avoid the common pitfalls, whether building something personally or advising others.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • 5+ years of relevant SRE experience in the tech industry,
  • demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security and experience supporting web application architecture,
  • experience working with a variety of storage systems, application architectures, compute infrastructure and network management systems,
  • experience designing, implementing, deploying, and operating high scale production service,
  • defined architecture and built services at scale on public infrastructure such as AWS and Azure, proven knowledge at least one higher-level language (eg. Python and Golang),
  • The ability and desire to build and learn new systems with new technologies.

We are seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering for our well funded e-commerce fulfillment startup

Exciting times in e-commerce: E-commerce sales in Europe is projected to be £406 billion by 2023, expected to grow 8% per year between 2018-2023. The growth is driven by consumers that increasingly buy more online as well as the emergence of small and medium e-commerce sellers, which have grown at 18% and 28% per year, respectively between 2009-2017. There are 200,000 small and medium e-commerce sellers in the UK alone, selling their products through multiple channels, including marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay, their own websites, and on social media like Facebook and Instagram. Today, these small and medium sellers are ignored by the large incumbent logistics service providers and we are on a mission to change that.

Building a next generation Fulfillment-as-a-Service platform: With this explosive growth in e-commerce, the demand for e-commerce fulfilment and delivery is booming. Bezos is a next generation Fulfillment-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform, that allows small and medium e-commerce sellers to outsource their storage, fulfilment, delivery, and returns and focus on what is more important: growing their businesses. Bezos’ operational model is based on partnering with certified logistics suppliers that will execute the different services on our behalf. We believe there is a massive market opportunity to serve these currently unattended and fast growing small and medium e-commerce sellers. Job Description

Devops Engineer Steady helps users make more money - we allow users to discover the opportunities that will increase their earnings and make the most of their available time. Job Description We are looking for a Devops Engineer to help build and operate our delivery pipelines and core platform. The position will work side by side with development, QA, and product in order to successfully deliver high quality software. An ideal candidate is an individual who is either a strong developer who is interested in operations, or strong operations engineer who is interested in software development. Good team skills are essential to this role, as there is a great deal of day-to-day collaboration that takes place as we build and deliver solutions.

Responsibilities • Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using drone and spinnaker • Build and maintain observability and alerting across application and infrastructure • Assist with the operation of a kubernetes cluster • Participate in on-call rotation • Automation of manual tasks using scripting and application development • Identify bottlenecks in the development process and implement solutions • Work with developers to optimize applications for performance and scale • Administer AWS resources and provide guidance on utilization • Ensure we are releasing code safely, securely and frequently • Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools are needs arise

Qualifications • Strong analytical, troubleshooting skills • Good understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery principles • Knowledge and experience with container technologies. Docker and kubernetes preferred. • Strong linux skills • Understanding of security principles • Experience with at least one programming language (python, ruby, golang, C#), no need to be a superstar coder but you will need to at least be able to write maintainable code that interacts with the AWS and other API's • Good understanding of devops/agile principles • Experience with configuration management/infrastructure as code tooling. Terraform is preferred. • Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions. Prometheus is preferred. • Use of version control systems such as git • Experience working with cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP). AWS is preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization • Up to date with latest industry patterns and tooling. • Independence and self-motivation while still being able to work with others collaboratively • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment Location: • Office is located in Midtown
