Are you an enthusiastic developer with experience in Go, looking for the opportunity to join a small but rapidly growing start-up?

MachineMax is a start-up positioned to transform and disrupt heavy industries through the use of IoT and data analytics, with the backing and investment of Shell, BCG Digital Ventures and B Capital.

What does the role involve?

• Develop event-driven data pipelines to process IoT data
• Design and build a suite of web services to support web and mobile apps
• Design a system to accommodate a high volume of IoT sensor data
• Develop automated tests for everything going into production
• Develop CI/CD pipelines to deploy the different services

What are we looking for?

• An experienced software engineer motivated by getting an excellent product into the hands of consumers
• A few years of experience working with Go
• Willingness to operate across the tech stack, from data engineering, to backend, to devops
• Someone happy to collaborate as part of a team
• A drive to deliver high quality code with a focus on automated testing

Tech stack:

• Go, Python, Terraform, GCP, React, React Native, Embedded C/C++/LoRA

Responsibilities
You’ll be working within a tight-knit development team on exciting projects with plenty of technical challenge to get your teeth into, you will:

• Design, build, test, and maintain high-performance and scalable microservices in a global, federated container cluster
• Integrate and deploy custom and off-the-shelf software components
• Manage deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment that blends software and wet-lab development
• Master our current technology stack which includes: Kubernetes Federation, Go, Google Cloud, Docker, and Ansible

Requirements

Key requirements:

• BA/BS degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Unix development environments
• Working knowledge of common network protocols (HTTP, TLS, GRPC)
• Well versed in any of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, or Go
• Working knowledge of HA and distributed systems

We're looking for a senior software engineer or site reliability engineer with experience in Go, microservices, distributed systems and cloud-native technology to come help build a global services platform for developers.

Cloud-native development has become massively complex in a world filled with docker, kubernetes, envoy, istio and much more. We want to abstract away all of this complexity and build a global platform for developers to build and share services.

You should have experience building distributed systems in Go and have battled with cloud-native technologies. You should have a disdain for the way software is built today and want to play a role in changing how we build software in the future.
