The Role:
We are looking for a back-end Go engineer to help us build our native app infrastructure. You would be working directly with our CTO and Head of Product to design and deliver user-facing features and infrastucture. We are a small team with modern infrastructure (Go 1.14, Kubernetes, gRPC microservices) but need more hands and minds to move at the pace we want, support our existing users, and grow/improve our stack. In addition to Go development, there are ample opportunities to work to improve our devops, evolve our CI/CD process, and support our data science work.

About the Opportunity
We’re adding a Senior Level Engineer to our close knit and cross functional team. This is a unique position as you not only need to have experience with DevOps, but also understand the challenges of implementing it across an organization and be passionate about simplifying this in order to achieve maximin velocity. We believe that DevOps is too complicated for most developers and too subjective for most companies. Our Platform allows teams to package up custom automations (Ops) that can be run on your local machine or in Slack, which we strongly believe is at the centre of remote collaboration.

Our mission is to make it far easier to embolden, recruit and commit more volunteers and supporters for nonviolent civil resistance campaigns than ever before, while evading internet censorship and data breaches. We are close to completing our beta and were initially funded by two EU foundations and a few medium level US progressive donors.

Working remotely: The Third Light development team embraced remote working a few years ago and now has workers in more than one country. We strive to provide a friendly, fun, supportive remote-working culture and we refine our processes to make remoting easier. We will welcome your ideas and contributions. Normally, as a new starter, you'd come to the office for a few weeks to get to know each other.
