Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Go, Postgres)

Location: Remote
Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 base

Overview

We are partnering with a fast-growing, Series A infrastructure company building a transactional alternative to Elasticsearch on top of Postgres.

Their platform delivers full-text search and analytical workloads directly inside Postgres, eliminating ETL pipelines while preserving transactional guarantees. The product is used by production customers running demanding, mission-critical workloads.

This is a senior infrastructure-focused role with strong exposure to Kubernetes, Postgres internals, cloud platforms, and customer-facing systems. You will help design, build, and operate a Bring-Your-Own-Cloud Postgres platform used directly inside customer environments.

What You’ll Do

Build and operate production-grade Postgres infrastructure in customer cloud environments
Develop and maintain a BYOC platform using Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud APIs
Design systems around Postgres backups, replication, upgrades, and monitoring
Build CI/CD pipelines for benchmarking, testing, and releases
Work directly with customers on deployments, troubleshooting, and long-term operations
Contribute to documentation, technical writing, and product demos
Help shape the technical roadmap and infrastructure strategy

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience operating Postgres in production
Hands-on Kubernetes experience in real-world environments
Proficiency with infrastructure tooling such as Terraform, Helm, YAML, Bash, or Python
Experience building infrastructure or platform services in Go
Comfort working directly with customers in production settings
Strong systems thinking and ownership mindset

Nice to Have

Experience with Postgres replication, backups, or extensions
Experience with CloudNativePG, Neon, or similar Postgres platforms
Background in SRE, DevOps, or solutions engineering roles
Familiarity with search, analytics, or Elasticsearch-like workloads
Open-source contributions
