As a Senior Back End Developer at Network Perception, you will lead the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art network modeling solution that is a core part of our software products. This position combines in-depth knowledge about networking protocols and access control algorithms with extensive software engineering practice and the ability to implement reliable software modules with highly-usable APIs.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation of a network modeling module • Analyze complex requirements and identify efficient design options • Build reusable code and libraries for future use • Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability • Implement security and data protection • Design and implement data storage solutions • Collaborate as a full time member of the software development team • Participate in code reviews and research discussions • Support quality assessment operations and technical requests from developers and users
Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills • In-depth knowledge about networking protocols and the TCP/IP stack • Perfect understanding of access control lists, address translation, tunneling, and standard routing protocols • Expert in a high-performance programming language such as C++ or Golang • Fluent with Unix toolset, Git, and Python • Solid experience with test-driven development • BS or MS in Computer Science (or related) with at least 5 years of relevant experience

As a CancerIQ Software Engineer, you will to take part in an agile engineering process. You will architect and implement backend and frontend solutions using Javascript, Ruby, Golang, Rust, Elixir, and other technologies best-suited for the goals of the CancerIQ platform. You'll research, design, and propose architectural initiatives that incorporate domain-driven design into the microservices environment, employing sound data validation, provenance, and communication using technologies such as Kubernetes, GraphQL, and Kafka. You’ll be developing robust, performant services and user-friendly web clients that can enable clinicians to operate efficiently and gain new insights. Through intuitive visuals and interfaces, you will be creating modern and appealing applications across multiple platforms for patients of all types and demographics.

What are we looking for?
You should have several years of experience and completed many projects that have enabled you to develop strong opinions on code structure and modularization. With the rapid movement in the web landscape, you shouldn’t be afraid to dive into new technologies and learn from top to bottom. We use a mixture of technologies, and focus on those that help us get jobs done most efficiently. Knowledge of Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, Backbone, and the like, should be something you can bring. You should have an expert-level understanding of Javascript (e.g. prototype-based inheritance, event delegation, closures, callbacks). You need thorough knowledge of the newer frameworks, and the progression of web technologies such as ES6/7, Typescript, etc.
You should have deep knowledge of the surrounding parts of the stack with the capability of designing RESTful APIs and backend services. As we scale to reach many patients and institutions, you’d make implementation decisions around scalability, performance, and web page optimization techniques. What your primary responsibilities will be: - Improve the IAVL codebase by committing DRY, well tested code. - Work with the Cosmos-SDK team to keep the IAVL tree and its proofs well integrated. - Optimize our implementation of the IAVL tree and its proofs. - Research, design, and implement improvements to the IAVL tree, the proofs, and related protocols. - Help formalize the specification of the IAVL tree and proofs and ensure the implementation adheres to the spec. - Develop simulations for testing the behaviour of the IAVL tree under various loads and read/write strategies. - Develop alternatives to the IAVL tree like the Ethereum Patricia Trie that adhere to the same interfaces. - Mentor junior engineers and support the growth and health of the team. - Review pull requests and provide valuable feedback to members of the team and open source contributors.
