Golang/Rust/Postgres Developer for Algorithmic Trading Company (Zurich)
This is not a typical company. You will be working with one other developer who will also be managing you and reviewing your code at the moment. That is me.
I am based in Switzerland though I am an American.
I want to reduce tasks to simple, well defined programs (where possible which is most places)
There are many aspects of an automated trading system that need to recur (e.g. ingestion of historical market data). If these "aspects" are broken down into many small parts, if one has a problem the others will still be running so most of the other programs can continue. If there are say 3 large programs and one fails, then the whole system must stop.
I am a developer myself so understand how to convey engineering requirements.
I am flexible about software language, to an extent. I am learning Rust so if a small program can be written in Rust I am open to it. I also want to learn other programming languages over time. So if you are into Clojure or Haskell it could be interesting to wade into those waters over time
Strong analytical and problem skills are a huge plus
Massive bonus points if you know Python/Matplotlib – data analysis stuff

Using Organise, Amazon drivers landed national media coverage, including an exclusive BBC Newsnight investigation, exposing their working conditions & calling on Amazon CEO to lower their parcel targets back to a safe level. They’ve also met directly with MPs and got the Amazon CEO grilled in front of Parliament. 40% of drivers have had their targets lowered to a safer level now as a result - a huge win for their collective action.
Over 100,000 members pressured the government to abandon their plans to scrap the laws protecting paid holidays and rest breaks (working time directive) - including sending tens of thousands of messages sent directly to the Business Secretary in the 24 hours leading up to the U-turn. Civil servants tell us (off the record) that the department were ‘astonished’ by the level of public backlash to the plans.
Dan*, a Census worker, started a campaign when he noticed Census temporary workers were being asked to travel to attend their first-day induction without being offered to have their travel expenses covered. In response to thousands of people joining the campaign, ONS has agreed to make sure all temporary workers are reimbursed for their travel expenses. With this and the update to the Census Jobs FAQs page clarifying the expenses policy, Census workers can start their jobs without being out of pocket.

💰 Competitive salary: Our salary formula adjusts to your cost of living and experience. For this role, the range is: £72,000 - £90,000 GBP in the UK // $101,000 - $127,000 in the US. We use a transparent salary formula based on experience + you'll get substantial stock options as part of our EMI scheme.

Job Description
We at PeerBoard are building a plug and play community & publishing platform. Think of a Subreddit/Fb Group that can be embedded into any website, an ultimate content creation and management system. We are 1 year old and have a first iteration of the product live, but now need stronger engineering leadership and execution to help us get to the next stage.
I (the founder) am an ex-Facebook engineering leader, but I don't have capacity to be deeply involved in engineering so am looking for somebody who can take off this load from me and essentially become a CTO for us at that stage.
In regards of the compensation, we're early stage and while funded, are trying to restrain ourselves from having a large burn. In addition to cash base we give stock and in general love when people are aligned with our long-term mission.
Also would appreciate any recommendations if you know the right person who cares about building quality open communication tools on scale.
