What You’ll Be Doing:
Performing hands on technical work to directly improve the reliability, resiliency, and scaling of our key platform systems
Working with stakeholders to develop and implement reliability and performance metrics
Facilitate DigitalOcean’s culture of learning by providing insight and recommendations for improvement
Coaching teams and individuals on reliability best practices and solutions
Working with other SREs and engineering leaders to define the architectures and practices that should be adopted in order to deliver on our engineering and operational goals
Establishing best practices for development, architecture, deployment, and operations
Working with peer SREs to improve services and processes (including architecture reviews, incident response, monitoring) in a cross-functional manner throughout the engineering organization
What We’ll Expect From You:
Distinguished track record as SRE (or similar role) with hands-on experience implementing reliability, process, and scaling solutions
History of fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and a track record of successful collaboration and coaching
Clear communication skills (both written and verbal) to document processes and architectures
Experience implementing disaster recovery best practices
Developing robust solutions that facilitate streamlined resolution of customer inquiries through use of technologies for automation, deflection, and issue management
Adept in Ruby and Go with a broad understanding of the full technology stack for a modern infrastructure
Advocate of effective development environments with the use of CI/CD tooling and configuration management technologies such as Chef or Ansible

Distributed Systems - TLS / API Engineer
We’re looking for talented software engineers with experience in building resilient and distributed systems to join our team. This role is responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining the platform to deliver our core CDN configurations as well as our future Edge Cloud products. We have local offices in San Francisco, Portland and other locations. Remote workers are also encouraged to apply. Time zones with some overlap to North American time zones are preferred.
What You'll Do
Contribute to the systems for managing DNS and TLS technology to minimize latency for delivering Fastly's services.
Implement systems to allow Fastly's customers to control their own TLS and DNS configurations for how their requester traffic reaches Fastly.
Contribute to the design and implementation of Fastly's latency-informed, topologically-aware DNS system.
Support internal operational, analytical and customer-facing teams that depend on the DNS and TLS tooling.
Build internet-scale, fault tolerant, well-instrumented services that enable Fastly's authoritative DNS services and TLS termination capabilities.
What We're Looking For

Principal Software Engineer - Edge Data

About the position:
AiB's Developer Experience (DevX) team is seeking a talented and motivated software engineer with experience in designing and developing backend systems in Go. You will be working within the DevX team to define requirements, iterate on software solutions, and deliver useful developer APIs for people interested in building Gno ecosystem. We’re looking for a motivated and versatile engineer who understands developer ergonomics and has great written communication skills. Your work will be hugely impactful, as your APIs will be used by a rapidly growing, international audience of developers.
What you will be doing:
Design and build highly available and scalable backend systems, microservices and public facing APIs
Ensure the code you write is high quality, readable, maintainable with minimal technical debt
Review PRs from other members and share knowledge to contribute to increasing the team's total know-how
Have an active role in architectural decisions and design
We are looking for someone who has/is:
At least 6 years of experience as a Backend engineer with at least 4 years hands on experience in Golang.
Significant experience writing Golang with a good understanding of its best practices, concurrency primitives, go/ * packages, and reflection.
Strong skills designing high quality public APIs and Go packages.
Strong in computer science fundamentals including network, storage, OS, data structures, transpilers/compilers, etc.
Strong in designing and building backend systems in Golang, microservices, containers and container orchestration.
Strong knowledge in HTTP protocol, protobuf and gRPC.
Nice to have:
Experience building with Tendermint Core and Gno
Interest in topics such as proof-of-stake, consensus algorithms, decentralized exchanges, public-key cryptography, etc.
Experience in building smart contracts
Experience in Ansible, Terraform
Some experience in front-end development, mainly VueJS, ReactJS

The customers and large community of users of our tools are operators, infrastructure engineers, and software developers that encounter novel performance, scaling, and usability challenges that we help them solve.
Consul started as an infrastructure management tool for service discovery and health checking, and has evolved to become a full-featured service mesh. You’ll be an active contributor to the service mesh ecosystem, following new developments in emerging technology and competitive offerings, looking for opportunities for product differentiation, and rethinking product architecture to meet new global scale and organizational demands.
In this role you can expect to:
Build and architect distributed systems for service connectivity focusing on AWS ECS and then expanding further to other AWS offerings.
Interface directly with internal teams, users and HashiCorp customers, as well as the larger Consul community.
Participate in user research studies and discussions with product managers and customers to better understand the network topologies, challenges, and constraints for which operators are trying to solve, and leverage those insights when approaching feature design and implementation.
