Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our growing Engineering & Product Department, to help drive meaningful outcomes and deliverables via our Engineering Team, whilst fostering a supportive, high performing and growth oriented environment within our Team.

Within the role you’ll work closely with Vidsy’s C-Suite to regularly communicate achievements coming out of our engineering team, whilst also taking accountability for the results and deliverables of our engineering team as a whole.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Mentoring, supporting and developing our engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback sessions and career tracking.
• Working with senior and principal engineers to maintain a constant understanding of the technical challenges and opportunities our team are currently tackling.
• Working closely with Vidsy’s C-Suite to report on progress of new products and features being rolled out by the Team, and briefing them on the relative intricacies and importance of these deliverables as required.

Required Experience

• Prior experience managing teams of high-performing software engineers.
• Proven track record of scaling up engineering teams.
• Although you maybe ‘hands off’ now, a background in software engineering is essential, and a passion for engineering and constant curiosity that enables you to stay up to date.
• Proven experience taking accountability for technical deliverables through a managerial post.
• An excellent communicator and relationship builder - able to help mentor junior engineers and challenge them to progress within their respective roles, right through to working with C-Suite on achieving Vidsy’s product roadmap and vision.

The blockchain engineering team at Swish is looking for talented distributed systems engineers to optimize protocol transaction throughput and network reliability for blockchains in development.

As a systems engineer, you will work with our blockchain developers, protocol researchers and clients to implement and improve on a byzantine fault tolerant blockchain architecture based on the Tendermint consensus layer, by increasing the throughput, reliability and stability of the network. This role is ideal for engineers who have experience optimizing performance and robustness of distributed systems, and are excited to be working on the cutting edge of high-performance blockchain protocol development.

You might have experience as an Unix/Linux distributed systems engineer optimizing performance and reliability for large-scale cloud servers, and be relatively new to blockchain and distributed consensus protocols. Level is building a modern remote monitoring and management solution. We are a small, well-funded, team that recently launched our product. We are searching for a strong, multi-talented individual contributor who is comfortable with systems-level programming and networking and can contribute to our agent, written in Go.

Must-Haves

• Deep knowledge of a systems language like C, Rust, or Go.
• Not afraid to dig into an RFC. Low-level internals excites you, rather than scare you away.
• Experience with system-level APIs in Windows (win32), macOS, and/or Linux.
• Excellent written communicator.
• Willing to learn and work with Go.

Nice-to-Haves

• You are comfortable using GCC and find yourself at home going through a C codebase.
• Familiarity with RPC and common methods of IPC such as sockets and named pipes.
• Video encoding experience. You have worked with VP8 and understand the spec.
• Building cross-platform libraries, our Go agent compiles to Windows, Darwin, and Linux on a variety of architectures.

Things you might work on

• Building a cross-platform application management system to give users the ability to automatically install and update apps.
• Working with VP8 to reduce the latency and bandwidth when streaming a device.
• Creating a native GUI for the agent.
• Adding a proxy to the agent that enables remote access to routers and switches.
• Implementing Trickle ICE to improve WebRTC connection times.

We are a small, close-knit team working to upend the RMM market with our new product. We have recently launched and have acquired our first hundred customers. Though we are a startup, our investors have given us a multi-year runway.

The Role

We are looking for a strong, product focused, growth mindset software engineer to join our core-team. • You will be working in small team, including the founder, to build the first MVP of the product.
• You will collaborate with the team to define the strategy and vision for how we will build effectively and be successful.

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience shipping high-quality products from start to finish. Ideally, experience at top tier SaaS startups/companies.
• Experience building Fintech products. e-Commerce and experience with small businesses is a huge plus!
• 2+ years professional experience in Golang. Rust, Kotlin or Java, nice to have.
