Day to day, you will…

• Work to support new and existing blockchain networks on our platform. This means dockerizing, YAML templating, and otherwise writing code that facilitates different networks running on our Kubernetes based platform every day

Chorus One is close to releasing a validating node for the Cosmos network. We are actively searching for a Blockchain Engineer to build validating nodes for other decentralized networks. The work consists of reviewing codebases of other decentralized networks, designing a path forward to deploy validating nodes using our internal infrastructure and to ensure operational security in deployed infrastructure. Monax were pioneers of permissioned blockchains and smart contracts and we are building our Agreements Network to allow new and more efficient forms of legal transacting.

Exploiting the benefits of various decentralised, distributed, and masterless technologies - chiefly Hyperledger Burrow, which Monax built from scratch and still maintains based on the Tendermint consensus engine.

You will have the chance to work on a system that has distributed consensus and validation in a low trust environment at its heart and offers very interesting challenges, these could be:

• Working with multiple clusters of nodes, most of which are not under your control to handle semi-automated network upgrades and governance votes. How do you upgrade a network you do not control?
• Using cryptographic primitives like Verifiable Random Functions to orchestrate churn amongst network validators

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Significant experience with Go (preferred), Rust, or C++.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building SDKs, APIs, or otherwise building and maintaining a production system at scale.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or similar cloud providers.
• Desire to keep up with modern best practices in software development and crypto.

Nice to have:

• Understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine.
• Experience using Go for production systems.
• Proficiency in database optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Developing our core software stack from the design stage all the way to production-ready implementations. Primarily in Go..
• Designing, building, maintaining, testing, and improving our node software and coordinating agents to power our distributed networks.
• Implementing and optimizing CI/CD to improve build and test times. Detecting and improving performance and stability for microservices.
• Improving the design of peer’s architecture through thoughtful, professionally communicated feedback.
• Writing performant SDKs and documentations enabling clients to interact with the Web3 APIs.
• Contributing to open-source projects and playing a role in building out the crypto ecosystem at large.
