Visa is looking for Software Engineers who will help build Open VisaNet, Visa's Next generation payment processing platform developed on Open Systems, that would fuel growth in electronic payments globally and drive financial inclusion in many parts of the world. Support cross-functional teams in integrated test efforts. Support in triaging and troubleshooting of highly distributed services in release testing and production environment. Understand and own component security analysis, including code and data flow review. Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques. Design and implement APIs, abstractions and integration patterns to solve challenging distributed computing problems. Ensure proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring. Ensuring proper documentation and internal publishing of design tradeoffs, code best practices and lessons learned. Contribute to efficient development process pipeline by leveraging best-in-class CI/CD tools.

• Complex calculation engines that can handle various pricing scenarios.“Google Sheets” like GUI for managing complex lists of covered items (aka schedules).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Reports to the Engineering Manager, Core
• Perform third-party API and data integrations
• Work with the Customer Success (CS) and Solutions Engineering team to develop internal tools and automation to scale business operations
• Comfortable working remotely, overlapping EST +/- 6 hours

Qualities We're Looking For

• Deep customer empathy, curiosity, passion, integrity, and drive
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• 1-3 years previous experience in one of the following roles, or similar: Full-stack Engineer, Software Engineer, Backend Engineer

Qualifications

• Experience in Golang, prior experience with Python a plus
• Experience in microservice architectures and distributed systems
• Working knowledge of: Linux; Docker; Web frameworks, Django preferred; PostgreSQL or MySQL, BigQuery; gRPC/Thrift, protobuf, and Swagger; Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience writing unit and functional tests
• Experience writing documentation and software requirements
