Fraugster
Berlin, Germany
€45,000 to €65,000 a year
February 2019
3 Applicants This Week
More Than 6 Months Old

Job Description

About Fraugster:

Fraugster is a payment security company with the goal of eliminating fraud and increasing our customers’ profits. Over the last years we’ve invented an artificial intelligence technology that combines human-like accuracy with machine scalability. This ability lets us foresee fraudulent attacks before they actually happen and gives us a distinct competitive advantage over every other player in the payment security space.

We’re already working with some of the most well-known payment and e-commerce companies in the world. Notable clients include companies like Ingenico and SIX Payments. Fraugster is backed by top-tier investors and is currently managing billions of Euros for its clients.

Job Description:

We make decisions based on data, it’s the core of our business, and it’s providing insights into the effectiveness of our product and features. We believe data powers creativity and productivity, and that a robust, reliable and scalable infrastructure is needed to support this.

Our Observability team is operating the solutions that make gaining insights from data possible with monitoring, logging, metrics and other telemetry tools. The team is responsible for simplifying the process of building data and metrics-driven products and features. This is a high impact, high visibility role that directly affects the experiences of all our engineers.

As we take on more services and responsibilities, we're looking to add another member to the team.

What you will be doing:

  • Design, build, and operate the observability stack of large-scale data infrastructure systems from the early stage
  • Improve the stack, dive into new technologies and figure out how best to monitor them
  • Provide easy ways to understand the state of the services at a given point in time, including the ability to trace requests across multiple services
  • Work with development teams in an advisory capacity to optimize usage of monitoring and logging tools: what to log, measure and alert, which metrics and events are important and why through guidance, documentation and internal discussion
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge, including Open-Source projects
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers as the team grows

You’re a good fit if some of the below applies to you:

  • You are a great teammate who can work effectively as part of a cross-functional team
  • You have strong analytical, problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
  • You are a good communicator in English, both verbal and written
  • You are knowledgeable about a variety of infrastructure and development topics
  • You have worked in an environment that runs multiple services handling a large number of transactions, owned by different teams
  • You have the skills to help a development team to perform complex debugging, but you also know when to let the team figure things out on their own
  • You enjoy thinking about how to make life simpler for other engineers

The experience we are looking for:

  • Designing, implementing and debugging large-scale data infrastructure systems, and identifying their performance bottlenecks
  • Understanding of long-term impacts of key design decisions and handling failure scenarios
  • Experience in Go is a big plus, but not strictly required and experience with a similar backend language would suffice. Our team can teach you and get you up to speed
  • Monitoring and operating open source software in production at scale e.g. Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Operating telemetry tools, e.g. the ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Istio and others
  • Not everything listed is required and not everything required is listed. If you have skills that are not listed but you think will contribute to your performance let us know!

What we offer:

  • The chance to be be part of a growing team of with plenty of room to leave your mark and impact company strategy and growth

  • An environment in which you can balance great work with a great life

We value ownership and innovation, and we build our teams with that in mind. We want each team to be responsible and accountable for what they ship. We also don't want to reinvent the wheel every time, so we try to get alignment in terms of practices and technologies. Our philosophy to achieve this is relying on excellent tooling and automation over policies and processes.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences from all over the world. We’re a team of technically curious problem solvers. Come and join us.

This is about delivering sophisticated new product features for release to our state-of-the-art software service that helps people manage and share their digital media files easily – features that deliver immediate positive impact for our global user base.

  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Personal development plan that you can shape for related training/certifications/conferences
  • 25 days holiday + public holidays | flexible hours | bicycle and free car parking | on site cafe | good coffee and tea | fresh fruit | choice of high end workstation | an adorable Beagle to brighten the office

Working remotely: The Third Light development team embraced remote working a few years ago and now has workers in more than one country. We strive to provide a friendly, fun, supportive remote-working culture and we refine our processes to make remoting easier. We will welcome your ideas and contributions. We provide computing equipment and cover reasonable costs incurred from running a home office.

Normally, as a new starter, you'd come to the office for a few weeks to get to know each other. Due to Coronavirus you will no-doubt join us remotely, at least temporarily, which will bring interesting challenges in how best to introduce you to, and integrate you into, the development team—how to train you, how to help familiarise yourself with our systems and ways of working. We see this as an interesting challenge so we’re working it out at the moment. We're planning a fully-remote ‘onboarding’ process with team meetups, one-to-one sessions and pair programming as well as online social gatherings for you when you join.

If you'd prefer to primarily work from our office this option will still be available to you after lockdown.

Job Description

Okta's Developer Experience team is looking for an experienced engineer with a love for the Go language, and a desire to work on open source SDKs that will delight our developer community. In this role you will have influence over our Go community strategy, which has a large base of developers working in the Dev Ops arena. Developers building on Okta want tools, written in Go, to facilitate their roll out of applications that leverage Okta as the underlying identity platform.

We currently offer a Go Management SDK, and a Terraform provider. In this role you will have ownership over these SDKs, as well as future SDKs that we create.

Okta's identity platform allows developers at companies of all sizes to integrate modern authentication features and workflows into their own applications. The Developer Experience team is responsible for sharing the love with those developers by identifying common use cases and creating tools and SDKs that make their lives easier, while helping them understand our product and the protocols that we support.

In this role you will be working on the leading edge of our Open Source Software (OSS) program and will gain invaluable experience with library design and development, as well as interacting with a community of engaged developers who use your work on a daily basis. Your code will see production scale usage at many companies, being embedded directly into applications and services that enable internet scale applications with large numbers of end users. This role provides the opportunity to design right, code right, and test right, and deepen your knowledge of the Go ecosystem.

We are a polyglot team and while we are looking for a lover of Go, we also value a generalist mindset and co-learning across stacks. We work closely as a team to design solutions that work across languages and environments.

Interested in the work we do? It's open source, check us out on GitHub ;)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build software development kits (SDKs), written in Go, for developers using the Okta APIs within their web applications and CI/CD workflows.
  • Interact with developers through GitHub on our open-source repositories, responding to issues and reviewing pull requests
  • Participate in software design and code review for all libraries that the team creates
  • Implement holistic testing strategies to assert we're delivering a good developer experience, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Write documentation and how-to content for the libraries that you create

Minimum Skills:

  • 4+ years working as a full-stack web developer (you've written production code, been exposed to backend and frontend problems, have experience deploying your applications, and can empathize with developers across the stack.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Go language
  • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
  • Experience working with a product-oriented, agile culture

Bonus Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform
  • Expertise in other languages, such as Java and Python
  • Experience interacting with other developers on GitHub (e.g. opening issues, contributing to issues, contributing pull requests)
  • Experience building libraries or tools that are used by other developers, either internally within your company or externally on pubic repositories

Job Description

We’re changing the way people think about transportation. Not that long ago we were just an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas. Now we’re a part of the logistical fabric of more than 600 cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

For the people who drive with Uber, our app represents a flexible new way to earn money. For cities, we help strengthen local economies, improve access to transportation, and make streets safer.

And that’s just what we’re doing today. We’re thinking about the future, too. With teams working on new modalities, self-driving cars and even urban air transportation, we’re in for the long haul. We’re reimagining how people and things move from one place to the next.

Hi! We’re the Go team at Uber. You might recognize us from such classics as zap, fx,go-torch, and Go Profiling and Optimization.

As part of the Go team you’ll join a group of language experts solely focused on improving the quality, performance and stability of Go code across the company and the broader open-source community. You’ll work with some of the most talented, high-velocity engineering teams and ensure that the most pressing development problems are solved, and the solutions are reusable for engineers everywhere in the organization. The code you build and maintain will be at the heart of critical systems across Uber, from infrastructure to user-facing products and services. You’ll empower a large and quickly-growing engineering organization to do its best work and deliver high-quality products quickly. You’ll ensure that moving fast doesn’t mean sacrificing stability, quality, performance or maintainability. And along the way, you’ll get to shape the very future of engineering at Uber.

We need passionate, skilled developers who can think at both the code and organizational levels, engineers who care deeply about building systems and libraries the right way, who are eager to take on ownership of business-critical code, and who are opinionated and uncompromising in their pursuit of technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain world-class Go tools and packages.
  • Drive the development of Go standards, practices and education.
  • Build Uber’s Go open-source presence.
  • Design and build infrastructure to help teams measure and improve development velocity.
  • Work closely with engineers across the company to solve critical software development problems in principled and reusable ways.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Go, including common toolsand best practices.
  • Experience building reusable tools, packages and software patterns for developers.
  • Background in infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Passion for software quality, including testing, code review, and documentation.
  • Desire to contribute to open source.
  • Strong cross-team communication skills.
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph. D. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Desired

  • Experience working on distributed software projects in a large organization.

  • Experience leading, contributing to, or maintaining open-source projects.

  • Experience as a technology-specific speaker or evangelist.
